They beat Minnesota last Wednesday. Is the #1 seed in the West not good?6-4 in the last 10.
Losses to every good team they have played. Things are not trending well.

thought it wasn’t that bad a look but he wasn’t set—his feet were off and that made it pretty tough shotAm I crazy or was that not a bad look? I mean the actual shot wasn’t close at all but it seemed like a decent look
Ok, Mary ToddIn one respect.
Sorry you didn't enjoy the game.
agreed 100%They beat Minnesota a week ago? And the losses are by 2, 4, 2 aside from the give up game against the Bucks.
A whole lot of mid season nothing to see here.
WTF are you talking about? Like what the actual fuck? They have a down game against one of the best teams in the league and it's highly unlikely that they'll play better than that? WHAT? This place goes absolutely crazy every time the Celtics lose or have a bad game.If the Jays don’t play better than whatever this was, they won’t be getting to the finals. Fortunately, that is highly unlikely to happen.
They just beat Minnesota!6-4 in the last 10.
Losses to every good team they have played. Things are not trending well.
YupOn the flip side, Denver got virtually nothing from Gordon and KCP offensively.
He's missed four quarter ending buzzer beaters in the last week alone. He has to do better. Has to.He should have driven into the defender's body. Guy was draped all over him. That fadeaway had no chance. I don't know what Tatum's end game numbers are but he takes some really crappy shots.
And why does it have to go through him all the time at the end? They've got five guys who can score.
Guess what kind of teams participate in the playoffs.WTF are you talking about? Like what the actual fuck? They have a down game against one of the best teams in the league and it's highly unlikely that they'll play better than that? WHAT? This place goes absolutely crazy every time the Celtics lose or have a bad game.
He clearly said it's high unlikely they'll play worse than that.WTF are you talking about? Like what the actual fuck? They have a down game against one of the best teams in the league and it's highly unlikely that they'll play better than that? WHAT? This place goes absolutely crazy every time the Celtics lose or have a bad game.
I read it as they’re unlikely to play as poorly as they did tonight most nights.WTF are you talking about? Like what the actual fuck? They have a down game against one of the best teams in the league and it's highly unlikely that they'll play better than that? WHAT? This place goes absolutely crazy every time the Celtics lose or have a bad game.
Think he's saying it's unlikely they don't play better. As in: they will likely play better.WTF are you talking about? Like what the actual fuck? They have a down game against one of the best teams in the league and it's highly unlikely that they'll play better than that? WHAT? This place goes absolutely crazy every time the Celtics lose or have a bad game.
I think you need to work on your reading comprehension.WTF are you talking about? Like what the actual fuck? They have a down game against one of the best teams in the league and it's highly unlikely that they'll play better than that? WHAT? I think he means that it’s highly unlikely the Jays play that badly againWTF are you talking about? Like what the actual fuck? They have a down game against one of the best teams in the league and it's highly unlikely that they'll play better than that? WHAT? Perk with a really salient take-Mazzulla doesn’t get them easy buckets. JT/JB with 5 FTA.Tatum 1 on 4 drive with 17 seconds left, then that fade away...good grief
The JAYs were terrible & they still had a shot to win a game
Not sure why they went away from KP in the post after Q1. They still lack offensive discipline
Did you actually read my post, bro?WTF are you talking about? Like what the actual fuck? They have a down game against one of the best teams in the league and it's highly unlikely that they'll play better than that? WHAT? This place goes absolutely crazy every time the Celtics lose or have a bad game.
Maybe the ATO GOAT could toss him a few plays?I thought they actually executed really, really well down the stretch and just didn’t make some open shots. Shit happens. They didn’t turn the ball over, they didn’t take bad shots, they just didn’t hit their open looks. Still not sure about Joe’s ATO plays but they still have a lot of time to work on it.
KP seemed a little timid/passive in the second half, though he got screwed on the foul when he grabbed the big offensive rebound.Tatum 1 on 4 drive with 17 seconds left, then that fade away...good grief

He's been a Celtic-killer for most of his career.Jamal Murray is one impressive basketball player.
Hell, Jokic himself was a loser you definitely couldn’t win a title with until last spring. The championship blue balls thing is real. Once a team breaks the seal they have that swagger, that ability. When you're really good but haven't won, you're Payton Manning before he won a Super Bowl. Nuggets are the Brady Pats, Celtics are still the Colts.
Tatum takes significantly more FTA per game than he did with Ime or Brad's last season. He's 8th in the league.Perk with a really salient take-Mazzulla doesn’t get them easy buckets. JT/JB with 5 FTA.
Bingo. Seriously. This thread is laughable. One of the worst of the year.
Tatum and Brown went a combined 15/43 and 2-18 from deep and it took a Herculean effort from Jokic and Murray to win by 2.
Tatum and Brown were taking it to the basket plenty. Joe can’t force the officials to blow the whistle.Tatum takes significantly more FTA per game than he did with Ime or Brad's last season. He's 8th in the league.
Some of that is because he's stronger and he gets a better whistle but that seems like the usual junk analysis from Perk.
This is a great point that shouldn’t get lost among all the teeth-grinding here.Only 2 turnovers tonight. Anyone who thinks they’re the same team they’ve always been isn’t watching the games. They got beat, didn’t beat themselves. Last year and the year before when it got close and late they constantly beat themselves.
I'm living in a post-Smart paradise. Should have shipped him off after the bubble.Only 2 turnovers tonight. Anyone who thinks they’re the same team they’ve always been isn’t watching the games. They got beat, didn’t beat themselves. Last year and the year before when it got close and late they constantly beat themselves.
Nope, they just missed their shots, and they had GREAT looks all night. It happens.Only 2 turnovers tonight. Anyone who thinks they’re the same team they’ve always been isn’t watching the games. They got beat, didn’t beat themselves. Last year and the year before when it got close and late they constantly beat themselves.
that I agree with. So so plays/process and poor execution2 points in the last 4:50 is just awful
that’s not the 89 Pistons they were playing
I know NBA stars are filled with self-belief, but Jaylen's decision to attempt a 3-pointer moments after missing two free throws struck me as perhaps ill-advised.The possession where Jaylen missed both free throws, then missed a wide open three, then White missed an open 3, was the killer, but it's right there with the five missed shots possession, etc.
There is no play, it’s just get Tatum the ball. I don’t like it, but it just looks like something we need to accept.Got to give Denver’s defense some credit. They played Brown and Tatum very well. Couple that with the fact that the shots weren’t falling in the second half they had nothing offensively. Can someone tell me what CJM is drawing up with these plays at the end of the game? These ISO’s shots don’t and haven’t worked for them ever.
Joe can’t win no matter what he does at the end of the game. If they don’t score after no TO there he’s getting killed for that here. This is a great point that shouldn’t get lost among all the teeth-grinding here.
Tough second-guess, but I didn’t like the TO at 4.9. I think they were going to get a decent look in the flow, as Jrue was shaking Jokic.
Yup. This was not a game to be pissed off about. They got beat by a real good team and two great players. It was pretty obvious this was going to be a 1 possession last possession nail biter.Only 2 turnovers tonight. Anyone who thinks they’re the same team they’ve always been isn’t watching the games. They got beat, didn’t beat themselves. Last year and the year before when it got close and late they constantly beat themselves.
Without Conley and Gobert? I guess they are still good sure but the Celtics barely squeaked by with a ton of help from the refs.T Wolves aren’t a good team?
C's were missing Porzingis that game.Without Conley and Gobert? I guess they are still good sure but the Celtics barely squeaked by with a ton of help from the refs.
It’s a long season. Do you think the other top teams don’t lose games, or win games with opposing players out, or get good whistles sometimes?Without Conley and Gobert? I guess they are still good sure but the Celtics barely squeaked by with a ton of help from the refs.
IND is a good team too. UT has been playing pretty well lately.6-4 in the last 10.
Losses to every good team they have played. Things are not trending well.
Agree with this. I was thinking that if they won like 35 in a row, they'd want to go for thr record and play guys who'd otherwise be sitting. So hopefully that's off the table.Glad the home record thing is off the table. Its a silly distraction. They lost a one possession game to the defending champs. If they play better they can beat them. Maybe they won't but they have time to work on it.
I feel like this should get reposted every time we play a 1 possession game. There is no play, it’s just get Tatum the ball. I don’t like it, but it just looks like something we need to accept.
https://darrylblackport.com/posts/2020-09-16-nba-final-possession-shots/There have been ~1100 possessions in the NBA over the last 20 seasons that started with 10+ seconds remaining in a tie game where the team with the ball can hold for the last shot. The FG% on shots in the final 2 seconds of these possessions is ~25%.
Also, their schedule has been insane. I don’t ever remember a Celtics team playing a schedule this brutal over the first half of the season. It’s a long season. Do you think the other top teams don’t lose games, or win games with opposing players out, or get good whistles sometimes?
The record isn’t a fluke.
Edit: Also what 128 said.
