How to get back in this thing

Yeah JBJ makes no sense 37 sOPS+ in April 106 in May 41 in June July could be 125 or 25, and they're probably equally likely, who the fuck knows.

How to get back in this thing

Dalbec has had a rough few weeks, but he was a league average hitter in May and has been a league average hitter in June. He's been adequate for almost 2 months now.

Jarren Duran: Improving in His Second Shot

Sizemore was like a top 5-10 player. That seems a bit high.

Jarren Duran: Improving in His Second Shot

His babip will come crashing down eventually, but it still seems unlikely they'd send him down to keep playing jbj in the lineup every night. Figuring out if he's a viable starting outfielder every day next year is pretty important.

    6/26 Hill vs Civale

Houck is such a terrible unreliable closer

    6/25 Winckowski vs Bieber

If you can find a closer that never struggles and makes every save look easy I'd love to know who that is. He did what you're describing once, and then he got out of the jam.

Everything Must Go? The 2022 Red Sox as Sellers?

Just think of how much value everyone that people wanted traded in April has added in the last 2 months!

    6/25 Winckowski vs Bieber

Not only is 3.50 not at all "almost 4", but it also includes his starts. As a reliever it's 3.03, and that's heavily impacted by one terrible appearance. He's been great as a closer.

    6/24 Pivetta vs Quantrill

Before today he had a 2.93 era 1.16 WHIP and .615 OPS as a reliever, that's really not close at all to average. It's only close to average if you include his starting numbers in, which makes no sense in comparison to other relievers.

    6/24 Pivetta vs Quantrill

Before tonight he had a 1.04 era in June with a .659 ops allowed. Also not sure why you think his WHIP is high for a reliever when it's decently above the major league average for a reliever. Not really sure what you're hoping for if you don't think he's been impressive so far. He's given up...

    6/24 Pivetta vs Quantrill

So he isn't cut out to be a closer because he's had some bad appearances in the 8th inning. Interesting logic. Edit: Actually it's one bad appearance. He got shelled in a single 8th inning and that killed his metrics because it's not very many innings.

    6/24 Pivetta vs Quantrill

He's pitched in 6 save situations this year and has a 1.59 era and 5 saves, but you've decided he isn't cut out to be a closer based on one bad appearance tonight (where he settled down and closed out the game with some nasty pitches)?

Al Horford - the Celtics' Resurrected Saviour of the Season

They don't want to reduce his salary by too much anyway, because eventually they're going to want to be able to turn his salary slot into a younger better player.

Kyrie is hurt and we have schadenfreude

So is giving the superstars away for pennies on the dollar after they committed to building a superteam on your team

Kyrie is hurt and we have schadenfreude

Harden literally just got traded for a package that included an all star. They aren't taking marginal players and marginal picks for Kevin fucking Durant and the 4 years he just locked himself in to.
