I hate him. I think he sucks. 2nd round pick? What the fuck. Not what the fuck? No. What the fuck.

Not sure what to think of this yet. I need to ruminate on it for awhile, if for no other reason than I need to come to grips with the fact that Tom Brady somehow isn't going to be around forever.

They've got to have a trade lined up for Mallett, right?  Because they just tanked his value otherwise

The kid throws bb's, I'll give him that. But I'd like to see more of him facing a rush from NFL-sized defensive fronts.

Goes against the GFIN mode they seemed to be in.

His value is and has been what he can do for other teams---it's the same as it was before the pick.  Pats know that, every team in the league does too.

Surprised that was the QB and thought they might move up in the third rather than use the second but high pick for QB was happening

This feels like a case of the pats being too disciplined ("best player available") or too smart for their own good.

I'd rather this team not fade into the wilderness when Brady goes.

This pick seems to indicate that Belichick is thinking about life after Brady. If he's staying much longer after that, then that's good enough news on its own.

Garoppolo though. Huh. Will need to learn a lot more about him.

ESPN has paid millions and millions of dollars to really bad analysts…case in point Trent Dilfer.  Who the fuck enjoys listening to these guys??

There's been a full page of shits, fucks and what's but no one has yet posted the name of the pick, which is interesting in a sociological sort of way.

Now, I have to go figure out to use twitter. Back tomorrow.

I disagree PKB, and I agree with Wibi.  Unless something is already in place for Mallett, this has to hurt his value.  It's basic leverage.   The Pats have shown their hand.  They have to move Mallett now, otherwise, they literally just wasted a second round pick.  And if you have to do something, and the other team knows you have to do it, why would they offer you the same in return as they would have when you didn't need to move him?
