Radacanu out of the French Emma Raducanu withdraws from French Open qualifying (telegraph.co.uk)

In her assessment of that match on April 24 – which remains the last time we saw Raducanu in action – Keothavong said “We talk a lot about head, heart and legs, and if your head and your heart aren’t in it, your legs don’t stand a chance. It was really disappointing to see. She said she was tired, but do you talk yourself into more tiredness?”

...

In an interview this weekend, Raducanu made waves by saying that female tennis players are often more skilful than male ones, before going on to describe the pay gap between the sexes as “huge” and unfair.

She also said that “Life starts after tennis. I am actually looking forward to the next chapter, which is funny to say at this age, but there are so many things I want to do in this life and I just don’t have enough time.”
I remember someone in here opined that she would be a single major winner and bust out. A few years since her US Open win, it seems that way.

And Stan vs Murray!
Amazingly Murray will have played Stan in three consecutive French Open matches, he didn’t play there the other years:

2017 RG SF vs Wawrinka

2020 RG R1 vs Wawrinka

2024 RG R1 vs Wawrinka

South Dartmouth, MA
4th seed Zverev drew unseeded Nadal in the first round of the French.
Scroll up a few posts ;)
Zverev alludes to the match happening monday: "I actually thought he (Zverev's brother) was joking in the beginning. But then, yeah, it is what it is. I mean, obviously, to be very honest, I wanted to play Rafa again in my career, in his career, because I didn't want my last memory of me playing against Rafa to be me leaving the court in a wheelchair. Ideally, I would have liked to play him in the latter stage of the tournament. It's a tough draw, but it's a tough draw for both of us. We'll see how it goes on Monday."

Zverev wins the first set pretty easily, 6-3 with two breaks. The roof is closed, which is hurting Nadal.

Rafa back in the match, saving two break points and then breaking Zverev, up 3-2 with a break in the 2nd set now.

Nadal served for the second set but was broken at love and then lost a tiebreak, Zverev up two sets now and looking like the end is near.

Yep, Nadal goes up 2-0 in the 3rd but Zverev is too good and takes it 6-3.

Think this would have been closer with an open roof, too bad.

Osaka giving Swiatek all she can handle right now. Swiatek won the first set in a tiebreak, Osaka is up 4-0 in the second right now.

Osaka fights off three break points to hold to start the third, incredibly high level of play from these two right now. Osaka has never beaten a top 10 player on clay, although she's just 0-4.

This is what I was hoping for with Zverev/Nadal, final four level tennis early on. Osaka is hitting unbelievably!

Swiatek has had 11 game points in the first three games of the 3rd, Osaka has won all 11 and is up 3-0 (one break).

Swiatek finally wins a game but Osaka comes back and serves a game at love, 4-1 now. Two more, Naomi!

Both players hold again, 5-2 Osaka with Swiatek serving.

Osaka doesn't have a top 10 win on any surface since the start of 2020, 4 1/2 years. One game away from one of the biggest wins of her career!

Oh man, crushing. Unbelievable escape from Swiatek! She won the last 5 games, down 5-2, wins 7-5. I feel awful for Osaka, she played very well.

Announcer just said highest quality second round match she's ever seen.
