Has to be the Warriors
Eyes on the prize, this guy.Embiid stays in when down 30 until he extends his steak of 30-10 games and then immediately comes out.
Referring to the play where Hart's(I think) forearm tapped his jaw, and Beverly flailed like he'd been slapped? This flopping rule is just as effective as the one from a decade ago. If it was easy to see and call in real time, we wouldn't need the rule because guys wouldn't bother trying it. I'll keep saying it, flops need to be assessed as technical fouls after the game, be strict with them and have them count towards the amount needed to start getting game suspensions. It won't fix it in the moment, but it will definitely curb the practice over time.Very happy that I don't have to watch Beverley play every game.. guy complains after every play..even the plays where it's 100% obvious he absolutely hacked the crap out of the other player.
Edit: he's also one of the top ten case studies showing that the NBA point of emphasis regarding flopping has made no change at all.. and is no longer enforced.
Yeah.. that's the one. It's not only the flop.. it's that for the next two minutes he walked around checking for blood as if he'd really been elbowed... and then a sequence of calls where he was exasperated and couldn't believe he'd been called.. for example the contest he did on a three in the corner where he hacked the crap out of the shooter.Eyes on the prize, this guy.

Suns about to win their 5th game in 6 tries, with their only loss to the unbeatable Kawhi Clippers. All the focus on the old guard in the west struggling is about the Lakers and Warriors, the Suns and Clippers may have something here if they can stay healthy.
Felt like the biggest sleep walk to 30-10 I've seen.. never really felt like he had any major impact on the game.Embiid stays in when down 30 until he extends his steak of 30-10 games and then immediately comes out.
He was -29 in 36 minutes. Of course single game +/- means absolutely nothing, but it felt appropriate here.Felt like the biggest sleep walk to 30-10 I've seen.. never really felt like he had any major impact on the game.
There was some bellyaching during the first game of the season that the Celtics didn't look great beating the Knicks in MSG, and I remember being confused because the Knicks are a hard playing, well coached team with real talent. They'll be a tough out in the playoffs. He was -29 in 36 minutes. Of course single game +/- means absolutely nothing, but it felt appropriate here.
From a pure fan perspective it's too bad Mitchell Robinson is out for the year, because Brunson/Hart/OG/Randle/Robinson would be a TOUGH five. They've got some issues and Brunson/Randle is a really questionable top 2 in the playoffs, but that team would (and still will) bully their way to a lot of wins.
Moody is currently a DNP-CD and the fans at Chase are chanting his name during timeouts.Has to be the Warriors
Kuminga/Moody + Wiggins for Siakam
Would Isaiah Stewart help once he's healthy? I don't know enough about his game, but I assume he's available. He was -29 in 36 minutes. Of course single game +/- means absolutely nothing, but it felt appropriate here.

Forever in my heart. Go to trivia every Thursday night with the gf and the team name we settled on was “Mark Us Smart” as tribute after he was dealt.I really like number 36 on the Grizzlies.
we've discussed the Isaiah Stewart extension a few times already. He will be very hard to deal with a Poison Pill restriction until Jul 01, 2024.Would Isaiah Stewart help once he's healthy? I don't know enough about his game, but I assume he's available.
Kerr isn't using Moody, and now has more confidence in Pods & TJD.Moody is currently a DNP-CD and the fans at Chase are chanting his name during timeouts.
Kuminga has played 23 mins so far.
He's a great player (and was a huge difference maker until the end of the series vs. Boston last year), but it's not hard to see why his playoff numbers drop a lot vs. the regular season. His shit just doesn't work the same way against focused defenses with elite, physical personnel.Hmm. Embiid playing and not dominating an over .500 team. Just a data point.
They always feel like a grindy team that can't score, but Brunson is elite, and they're top-10 in offense this year. There was some bellyaching during the first game of the season that the Celtics didn't look great beating the Knicks in MSG, and I remember being confused because the Knicks are a hard playing, well coached team with real talent. Thoughts on a small ball closing 5 with Randle at C, along with Hart, OG, Brunson and Divencenzo? Would be a problem for them versus a team with KP but might disrupt any other team in the East enough for Thibs to give it a shot. PS - I’m a softie for Randle and pull for him. Seems to be a good dude and plays hard night in and night out. They always feel like a grindy team that can't score, but Brunson is elite, and they're top-10 in offense this year.
View: https://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=39250634Taylor Jenkins went onto the court during live action and literally ran into the guy with the ball, then screamed at the refs for a full minute while getting restrained and didn't get tossed. Just a tech.
It was Mark Jones and Doris so who really knows but they said that Hartenstein is playing well as the starting C (and apparently going to earn a big payday). He's able to do a little more with the ball on the offensive end - had 5 assists last night and appears to be averaging 3.1 since Robinson went out). I haven't watched much PHI this year but watched from 2Q to mid-4Q of this game and was kind of amazed that virtually every time down the floor they ran half-court offense, Maxey would throw the ball to Embiid at the nail or the high post area; Embiid and Maxey would play a two-man game, and either Embiid or Maxey would be handling the ball almost the entire possession. It seemed like no one else really touched the ball much in the half-court.He's a great player (and was a huge difference maker until the end of the series vs. Boston last year), but it's not hard to see why his playoff numbers drop a lot vs. the regular season. Obviously that's true for everyone, but it affects Embiid more than most.
I assume this puts GS in the siakim raceFractured left hand for Chris Paul - surgery scheduled. Haven't heard a timeline yet.
I think they were already in it. Assuming Draymond returns soon he returns back to the role Paul had in the offense while upgrading those frontcourt minutes of Saric/Jackson/Kuminga. If they can somehow get Siakam into that mix they rate far up from where they are today with these two pieces added.I assume this puts GS in the siakim race
The Warriors could be willing to send a future #1 or #1's with limited protection for the backend of Curry's prime whereas other teams wouldn't be willing to do so.Also think that there is going to be a good market for Siakam. I don’t think Kuminga + CP3 is going to be enough.
Would they though? I am unsure if they can/will pay Siakam, so that is a lot to give up for what might be just 4 months of himThe Warriors could be willing to send a future #1 or #1's with limited protection for the backend of Curry's prime whereas other teams wouldn't be willing to do so.
Depends on whether he is seen as rental or not. Given that 1) he is a pending UFA and 2) there is at least one contender that can have max space, if you're not confident in resigning him, how much are you willing to give up for one playoff run. Also think that there is going to be a good market for Siakam. I don’t think Kuminga + CP3 is going to be enough.
If it were to happen it would be one those deals that Siakam's agent is involved in discussing a long term partnership. Obv they wouldn't give that much up for 4 months but IF they were willing to move future #1's it should be very competitive with what others would offer.Would they though? I am unsure if they can/will pay Siakam, so that is a lot to give up for what might be just 4 months of him
It’s incredible how good Sengun has gotten. Looks like Houston hit on Whitmore also. Another young fun WC team.Sengun is making Giannis his (insert your choice of adjective). It's an automatic 2-points and there is nothing Giannis can do about it.
i think you wanted noun here, unless you were thinking "Sengun is making Giannis his submissive" or something.Sengun is making Giannis his (insert your choice of adjective). It's an automatic 2-points and there is nothing Giannis can do about it.
I didn't watch the game. interesting how the boxscore sometimes tells a different story. AS had 21 points on 21 shots. Giannis had 48 points on 25. Big win for Houston though, they are a legitimately good team at home.Sengun is making Giannis his (insert your choice of adjective). There was a stretch in the 3Q as the Bucks cut the lead to 10-12 and had the Rockets on their heels. Whenever they went with Giannis on Sengun w no help it resulted in a layup, foul on Giannis or drawing help to find open shooter. Very impressive.I didn't watch the game. interesting how the boxscore sometimes tells a different story. AS had 21 points on 21 shots. Giannis had 48 points on 25. Seeding aside (the last couple years have made me care about it far less), we're also starting to see the true quality of Milwaukee and Philly after close wins and easy schedules made them look more like peers of Boston than they are.Pretty good day for Celtics playoff seeding, Philly loses to Utah and Milwaukee loses to Houston. Celtics 4 games up in the loss column on Milwaukee, 5 games up in the loss column on Philly. Good to bank some distance for the upcoming difficult schedule.
Yep, Hartensten signing has been one of several very good-to-great moves by the NY Knicks in recent years (drafts, Brunson theft, Nova reunion tour, OG, etc)It was Mark Jones and Doris so who really knows but they said that Hartenstein is playing well as the starting C (and apparently going to earn a big payday). Liking this 24yr old German center Isaiah Hartenstein on the MLE more and more. Good rim protector, decent on the perimeter for a 5. Efficient offensively. Young enough to continue to improve with minutes. See him replacing Theis, who could be moved in a bigger deal during the season
A poor man's TimeLord, he may even be able to develop a 3pt shot

Yeah, money didn't fit. Gallo was signed with the full taxpayer MLE.Yep, Hartensten signing has been one of several very good-to-great moves by the NY Knicks in recent years (drafts, Brunson theft, Nova reunion tour, OG, etc)
DARKO loves him. Consistent positive +/- On-Off players usually draw Brad's interest, wonder if he kicked the tires at any point or the money didn't fit? (Gallo was 2/$13MM)
2/18MM was an absolute heist by Rose. Love those under-the-radar acquisitions that work out.
The Knicks should figure out a way to keep IH and move MRob.
like him even though he never developed that 3pt shot
Yea, Brad was handcuffed money-wise.Yeah, money didn't fit. Gallo was signed with the full taxpayer MLE.
And of course Embiid didn’t play last night reinforcing Philly’s other major flaw. He just can’t stay healthy through a stretch of physical games.Seeding aside (the last couple years have made me care about it far less), we're also starting to see the true quality of Milwaukee and Philly after close wins and easy schedules made them look more like peers of Boston than they are.
They're good but flawed teams that are another piece away. The scary thing about Philly is that they absolutely have the salaries and assets to go get that piece.
Embiid has already missed eight games this season, and if he misses nine more, he will be ineligible for awards, which should be pretty interesting as we get further along in the season. And of course Embiid didn’t play last night reinforcing Philly’s other major flaw. Yep, once Philly adds that piece they'll be more dangerous than the BUCKs.The scary thing about Philly is that they absolutely have the salaries and assets to go get that piece.
good point, wonder how the Games Played clause is effecting his MVP/Vegas oddsEmbiid has already missed eight games this season, and if he misses nine more, he will be ineligible for awards, which should be pretty interesting as we get further along in the season.
I mean, credit where it's due: Morey has them in a great spot. He had to get a bit lucky with Maxey taking a huge, huge leap, but he has taken advantage of that unexpected leap very well, which is one of a GM's biggest jobs.Yep, once Philly adds that piece they'll be more dangerous than the BUCKs.
I know you're not a fan but Morey has done a good job, of turning the Harden situation into draft assets, usable vets, and filler to trade.
Harden/Embiid weren't going any further & they needed to open up those shots for Maxey

I wonder if he makes some token appearances just to get his game count up.Embiid has already missed eight games this season, and if he misses nine more, he will be ineligible for awards, which should be pretty interesting as we get further along in the season.
It has to be at least 20 minutes.I wonder if he makes some token appearances just to get his game count up.
I’m really interested to see what he does next six weeks—does he value cap space in summer or getting the asset now? Is he targeting best player/quasi-star or fit/contract length?I mean, credit where it's due: Morey has them in a great spot.
