Sam Darnold was mic'ed up and he was getting picked off on every pass by the Pats and he said on the bench he was seeing ghosts and it was included in the recap video of the game. What is the ghosts video?

Comfortable? The Jets have a better chance (as in zero) of getting Kirk Cousins from the Vikings than they do of getting a 46 y/o Brady out of a comfortable retirement.
How many NFL quarterbacks have successfully come out of retirement mid-season and joined a team that they never played for?You know, I was thinking that Brady was on the Roger Clemens plan...
It would be very hard, but he could likely do it. I would not put anything past him a year out from a pretty solid overall performance. I don't think he wants to, and presumably he retired for a reason when opportunities almost certainly were available. I also hope he doesn't. But he could. How many NFL quarterbacks have successfully come out of retirement mid-season and joined a team that they never played for?
My working assumption (until someone provides proof otherwise) is that Brady did not spend the offseason conditioning for an NFL season. Yes, he is still probably in unbelievable physical shape. But getting into NFL game shape is another leap altogether. So, even if he were to parachute in and sign with the Jets today, he would need at least 3-4 weeks to work himself into shape while also learning his new teammates, playbook, coaches, etc. At least an existing backup or practice squad player will be in game shape already. And that 3-4 weeks seems optimistic even for Brady; could easily be 5 or 6.
If he wanted to play again, he would have signed with a team already. Instead, he took a path with the Raiders that will significantly complicate any return to the field.
Baker Mayfield was signed by the Rams last year and started for them 3 days later and won the game. How many NFL quarterbacks have successfully come out of retirement mid-season and joined a team that they never played for?

If there aren’t any rules against raising the dead, good on BB for finding the next great strategy.People made fun of Sam but what if he is the only one seeing reality and the rest of us are blind to it.
Is it? How'd that work out for Aaron R?I dont think Tommy will play for my squad but it’s close to an ideal situation for a qb to step into.
Yeah the O-line is definitely bad, but Rodgers kept ignoring the play call (cuts on the DEs with quick patterns) because he wanted to play hero-ball waive the WR open and take big shots
I think this is correct. Brissett is the only guy that I hear and think is ok but I don’t think it’s a realistic option. They need a backup better than BoyleI think the Jets sign some scrubby backup and roll with Wilson at least 3-4 weeks. Nobody who is actually good is going to be available until maybe week 5 or 6, and Wilson was less terrible last night than he has been. I don't think he's ever going to be good, but he has some talent such that he's probably not worse than picking up the guys available right now.
It’s not what I said.Baker Mayfield was signed by the Rams last year and started for them 3 days later and won the game.
Tom Brady is one of the best football minds in the history of the NFL. You think it would take him a month to figure out an NFL playbook? Come on. This is Tom Brady.
And if you think he's not working out like crazy, you haven't been paying attention to the last 23 years.
Playing a season for the Jets wouldn't do anything to his Patriots legacy. come on.Between the o-line and that it would (unlike Tampa) actually hurt his Patriots legacy, I think Brady to the Jets is incredibly unlikely. But I don't think it's at all crazy to say that if a team with Super Bowl aspirations outside of their QB calls, he's thinking about it, and that includes the Jets as the current roster stands.
Did he talk to his back-up Qbs as well?
Yeah, that was some elite bus throwing work by Aaron. It may be true, but c'mon, they called the play, it worked perfectly, if Aaron can't execute quick plays at this stage in his career it's a problem.Did he talk to his back-up Qbs as well?
Somebody--I'm guessing "A.A. Ron" told a reporter from the Athletic that Rodgers didn't like how the Jets coaching staff were using cut blocks b/c they don't give Rodgers enough time.
He's such a baby. And I don't just say that because he won't be able to walk well for months.Yeah, that was some elite bus throwing work by Aaron. It may be true, but c'mon, they called the play, it worked perfectly, if Aaron can't execute quick plays at this stage in his career it's a problem.
To be fair to my guy, that’s on the record from before the game as far as I know, he manifested it. I do not believe he has released a statement post injury.Yeah, that was some elite bus throwing work by Aaron. Maybe I'm missing it but everything I'm seeing (Stories by Zach Rosenblatt and Russinni on the Athletic) is dated 9/12. Not sure when those two learned about this issue or if they referenced it at any earlier point--and I don't have X/Twitter so perhaps one of them did mention it earlier). To be fair to my guy, that’s on the record from before the game as far as I know, he manifested it. I heard Rosenblatt talking about an article he had coming out and I think he said the info was from before the gameMaybe I'm missing it but everything I'm seeing (Stories by Zach Rosenblatt and Russinni on the Athletic) is dated 9/12. Make sense. I'm sure you're right. Of course where they got the news that Rodgers was unhappy with the offensive play design before the game is another question. (And yes that is goalpost shifting).Pod transcript, Zach discussing, the her is Russini:

So if he is texting Russini about the cut blocks during the game they had the info prior, right? That’s how I heard it when I was listening.
That would be quite the subterfuge because Russini and Schefter famously don’t talk to Rodgers. But it could be someone like Cobb or a coach or the agent as you sayMake sense. I'm sure you're right. Hint it was from Rodgers or his agent.
Rodgers just posted on insta, which afaik is the first statement he’s made since the injury. I won’t post it all because it’s mostly thanking people for reaching out and keeping him in their thoughts etc, but he ends it with “the night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again.” So it seems like he’s planning on a return

That’s good.Thread title really should’ve been changed to “I’ve been immobilized”

Gordon Hayward weeps at being forgotten. This is really, really wild. Has any big time free agent/ traded player in any sport gone down for the year this quickly ever?
I blame 9/11. The two grossest things I ever saw live at the gym was the planes hitting the towers and Gordon’s ankle. Given the day, I think my subconscious tied them together and blocked the Hayward injury out.Gordon Hayward weeps at being forgotten.
I doubt Wentz is interested. They don't play the Bears this year.It really has to be Wentz. There isn't realistically anyone else out there unless you consider Cam Newton available.
Just what the Jets need: More ghosts.
Best example is probably when 44 year old Vinny Testaverde came out of retirement in 2007 to start 6 games for the Panthers and went 2-4. Had never previously played for them or under any of the main coaching staff to the best of my knowledge. It’s not what I said.
He would need to get into football shape. He is not in football shape today.
How many NFL quarterbacks are Tom Motherfucking Brady? How many NFL quarterbacks have successfully come out of retirement mid-season and joined a team that they never played for?
