Al Horford held Joel Embiid to 3-of-16 as his primary defender in game 7, per ESPN tracking
Glad he was able to find his excuse.Doc says he plans to stay in Philly but says 'no one is safe in our business.'
Also says Embiid wasn't right after he stepped on Smart.
he's lost his last FIVE.10 Game 7 losses for Doc, doubling the 2nd highest of all time.
When you're at the table and you can't spot the sucker, it's you.
I predicted a big Game 7 for Horford, though I didn't necessarily expect him to dominate on defense. Amazing performance.View: https://twitter.com/kirkgoldsberry/status/1657872745051332608

you can omit everything after “right” in that sentence.Doc says he plans to stay in Philly but says 'no one is safe in our business.'
Also says Embiid wasn't right after he stepped on Smart.
Well then maybe he shouldn't have sought a (dangerous) cheap ass foul then.Doc is blaming Embiid jumping on Smart for his performance………
Almost? By eeking out 2 of the 3 wins and holding a small lead after one quarter in game 7?“No one in this room picked the Sixers and we almost pulled it off.”
-Doc
Should be able to find it on YouTube.I need to find a transcript from this Doc pressee
…a good amount of people picked the Sixers“No one in this room picked the Sixers and we almost pulled it off.”

HahahahahahahahahaDoc says he plans to stay in Philly but says 'no one is safe in our business.'

tbh he should throw Embiid and Harden under the bus. Those guys are DOGS.Spent the whole game chilling on the beach and by the pool in Costa Rica. Didn’t look at my phone once until my wife looked for me and said “it’s good news.”
Sitting here drink in hand chuckling about Doc. Glad it was such a stomping that he has no cause to whine about the refs or whatever he had been planning to do in case of a loss. Probably throwing his players under the bus instead.
“The character it takes to lose by that many points—to get stiffed so many straight second half possessions, and keep trying yet another time. It’s amazing; most players would start hitting shots or passing, but Joel stuck to his game plan even when it had failed in a spectacular way. So you have to admire that kind of character….”Has anyone checked on Doris? Do we need to find her a grief counselor?
Has anyone checked in on dude who had the massive Tatum related meltdown after game 1?Has anyone checked on Doris? Do we need to find her a grief counselor?
BuckAnyone still think Tatum isn't good enough to be a superstar?
Funny, I haven't seen him around in awhile. Wonder whyBuck
Quite the opposite for me...it makes me even more certain Smart should NOT be attempting game-winning shots at the buzzer.Anyone still think Tatum isn't good enough to be a superstar?
Tatum's 2nd such game (also: 4/30/2021 vs. Spurs; 60 points). Only 3 others have multiple 51+ point, 0 turnover games in NBA history, combining regular season and postseason games. The others: MJ (3), Kobe (2), and Dame (2).First guy to score 50 in a playoff game without a turnover? seems good

Other than the owner why would the Rockets want an aging, lazy, ballhogging former star player. Ime might kill him and he would stunt the growth of the young players. Of course the owner is all that matters.Harden probably takes a huge payday from Houston and quietly fades away to retirement
He led the league in assists this year and didn't take many shots. Seems like a pretty good guy to help the young guys get better looks. They aren't winning anything for the next few years anyway, so his playoff struggles are meaningless.Other than the owner why would the Rockets want an aging, lazy, ballhogging former star player. He isn’t really a ball hog, I have my critiques of Harden but that’s not one of them. He chokes, he isn’t in the best shape he could be in, he is not a big team guy (he isn’t a cancer but he’s not a leader, either). My problem with him is he could be a top 5 player and he is happy to be an all star level player. I cannot accept that. That would piss me off so bad if he was one of the lead dogs on my squad.Other than the owner why would the Rockets want an aging, lazy, ballhogging former star player. Good job. You raised him right. My nine year old and I sat down to watch the game and after the 1st Q he said to me “Dad, we have to go down to the basement and watch.” He seemed quite urgent about this. I asked him why. He said “It’s where we watched the Bucks Game 7 last year.”
So yeah, Tatum was pretty awesome but I’m going w my kid as MVP. . .
You guys are right. He hasn’t been as ball dominant with the Nets or Sixers the last few years. I would worry about him not be willing to give the ball up as much without another superstar. He isn’t really a ball hog, I have my critiques of Harden but that’s not one of them.
