Doc says he plans to stay in Philly but says 'no one is safe in our business.'
Also says Embiid wasn't right after he stepped on Smart.

Spent the whole game chilling on the beach and by the pool in Costa Rica. Didn’t look at my phone once until my wife looked for me and said “it’s good news.”

Sitting here drink in hand chuckling about Doc. Glad it was such a stomping that he has no cause to whine about the refs or whatever he had been planning to do in case of a loss. Probably throwing his players under the bus instead.

tbh he should throw Embiid and Harden under the bus. Those guys are DOGS.

Has anyone checked on Doris? Do we need to find her a grief counselor?
“The character it takes to lose by that many points—to get stiffed so many straight second half possessions, and keep trying yet another time. It’s amazing; most players would start hitting shots or passing, but Joel stuck to his game plan even when it had failed in a spectacular way. So you have to admire that kind of character….”

Doc proved himself to be a sniveling, excuse making, blaming others utter dickhead in this series. Seeing his pain at the end brought me more joy than that of any of his players. Though seeing Niang’s pain would have been nice.

I will be in sports bliss for many many hours.

I am soooooooooo drunk.

And in the words of Marcus.

Rightfully so.

The doghouse is kind of nice. Anyone have a blanket?

My nine year old and I sat down to watch the game and after the 1st Q he said to me “Dad, we have to go down to the basement and watch.” He seemed quite urgent about this. I asked him why. He said “It’s where we watched the Bucks Game 7 last year.”

So yeah, Tatum was pretty awesome but I’m going w my kid as MVP. . .

I brought up earlier how Doc gave an interview earlier this year where he blamed the Clipper players for not winning (no mention of his piss poor GM’ing or coaching).

his quote was “"Not trying to take anything away from that [Clippers] team. That team was never going to win... we just didn't get along well enough as a group & you can't win without cooperation."

JJ Redick just tweeted this…

It actually kind of sucks that they replaced Doris and mister cliche with the varsity.

The only thing missing today was hearing her suffer.

Other than the owner why would the Rockets want an aging, lazy, ballhogging former star player. Ime might kill him and he would stunt the growth of the young players. Of course the owner is all that matters.
He led the league in assists this year and didn't take many shots. Seems like a pretty good guy to help the young guys get better looks. They aren't winning anything for the next few years anyway, so his playoff struggles are meaningless.

He isn’t really a ball hog, I have my critiques of Harden but that’s not one of them. He chokes, he isn’t in the best shape he could be in, he is not a big team guy (he isn’t a cancer but he’s not a leader, either). My problem with him is he could be a top 5 player and he is happy to be an all star level player. I cannot accept that. That would piss me off so bad if he was one of the lead dogs on my squad.

You guys are right. He hasn’t been as ball dominant with the Nets or Sixers the last few years. I would worry about him not be willing to give the ball up as much without another superstar.

I went with my 12-year-old and I will say that was one of the most fun sporting events I have ever been to, both because of the game itself and because of how into it he was. Probably the first game he’s been to (and he’s been to a lot between the four Boston teams) that be hasn’t asked for his phone even once. What a fantastic day.
