Oh of courseParlays always get you on that last leg.
Was going to say the same thing: Tatum was very quietly dominating in the 4th -- lots of little plays, tips, rebounds, and moves. Just awesome from him.Tatum was incredible down the stretch. Completely took over when it mattered.
I tend to think any challenge where you might save points or a foul against an important player is not a bad challenge.Challenged calls are so random as to whether they're upheld or not that it really isn't much of an issue.
We are stressed as fuck man it’s title or bust season and the Bruins just bombed out.Maybe the craziest game thread all year. I kept getting confused. Really read like we were getting our asses kicked
He completely turned it around. He put the team on his back at the end. And you nailed it, he had a lot of hustle plays or got to the right place at the right time. Great to seeWas going to say the same thing: Tatum was very quietly dominating in the 4th -- lots of little plays, tips, rebounds, and moves. Just awesome from him.
Plus all our pets heads are falling off!!!We are stressed as fuck man it’s title or bust season and the Bruins just bombed out.
White has done nice work on MaxeyEveryone is going to focus on Harden's suck, but Maxey was terrible too
They said the would be back. Now onto Game 4 and a very important question….who is calling it? I live in FL and have NBATV…is there a possible reprieve from Burke or Reggie?
Was coming in here to post this.Sequence of the game for me was after Philly got to 4. Crowd was in it and Celtics had some misses and turnovers. Brogdon offensive rebound and big Al hit the basket of the night.
Yeah he needs the Brook Lopez treatment. You are not unhappy if he is taking shots instead of other players, per se, but these are open gym looks and he’s an asshole so he’ll keep hitting them. But he’s panicky inside the arc with the ball, you need to live with maybe getting a better player a shot because you’re also getting a good opportunity for a turnover or a possession-killer.One incredibly simple change I would like to see them make for Game 4…close out like crazy on Tucker and make him do something off the dribble. No collapsing on him or anything. Close out and then have a big guy at the basket.
I don’t think PJ has any confidence in himself scoring from anything other than a catch and shoot set 3
Harden was terrible and Tobias Harris and Maxey were invisible. Embiid can not do it all by himself.Sixers were 43 percent from three, good play from their bench, and Embid with a big night — and the Celtics still win by double digits on the road.
It really is all about Harden for them. Barring something weird, he needs to be great for them to have a good chance to win.
They don't need to change their strategies versus PJ Tucker. He's useless. He's scored more than 10 points four times this year. One incredibly simple change I would like to see them make for Game 4…close out like crazy on Tucker and make him do something off the dribble. And called out the T!I’m super impressed with Grant and the coaching staff. I’m sure it was not easy for him to watch R1 but clearly they let him know that it just wasn’t his series and that he would get his time. And he is out there doing the dirty work, taking the looks when he gets them, but content to D up put in some hard fouls and generally just make things difficult for Philly.
He doesn’t want to shoot period apparently. Doris said about 10 times that he’s shooting because he knows his playing time will get yanked if he doesn’t.Yeah he needs the Brook Lopez treatment. It wasn’t a ton of possessions but they were imprecise on a few collapses tonight that led to those open looks, oftentimes pinching on guys when the initial defender had it covered. Can’t play perfect defense all night, of course. Sometimes they just lose their head a bit. Need to be OK allowing some crowded two point attempts especially by guys like McDaniels or Tucker.
…..okThey don't need to change their strategies versus PJ Tucker. He's useless. He's scored more than 10 points four times this year.
I think PJ bagged 3 4th qtr 3s against the Celts to seal the 76ers only regular season win this year. They don't need to change their strategies versus PJ Tucker. He's useless. He's scored more than 10 points four times this year.
I know it wasn't exactly a one or the other decision but sticking with Harris instead of Butler would make my head hurt if I was a Philadelphia fan.Tobias Harris at $37 million a year? If must be very frustrating for Sixer fans to continually watch him be a non factor
Could you imagine an Embiid/Tatum/Butler core? Simmons also might not have imploded since he'd never have to shoot.I know it wasn't exactly a one or the other decision but sticking with Harris instead of Butler would make my head hurt if I was a Philadelphia fan.
That Philadelphia lineup would definitely make my head hurt.Could you imagine an Embiid/Tatum/Butler core? Simmons also might not have imploded since he'd never have to shoot.
Yeah the announcers go nuts when he hits his twice weekly 3 pointer and grabs the occasional 4th quarter offensive rebound, but he's as close to a zero as you get for a rotation player on offense. Good for him that he's still really solid on defense. They don't need to change their strategies versus PJ Tucker. He's useless. He's scored more than 10 points four times this year.
Prefer not to, thanks.Could you imagine an Embiid/Tatum/Butler core? Simmons also might not have imploded since he'd never have to shoot.
The way the Doris and co were calling the game you almost couldn’t help but think that. It was an odd feeling.Maybe the craziest game thread all year. I kept getting confused. Really read like we were getting our asses kicked
I also noticed that he didn't gripe at the refs at all.I’m super impressed with Grant and the coaching staff. I’m sure it was not easy for him to watch R1 but clearly they let him know that it just wasn’t his series and that he would get his time. And he is out there doing the dirty work, taking the looks when he gets them, but content to D up put in some hard fouls and generally just make things difficult for Philly.
That's mainly because he's so reluctant to shoot. Leaving him wide open for corner 3s isn't a great idea. That's the one shot he can hit. They don't need to change their strategies versus PJ Tucker. He's useless. He's scored more than 10 points four times this year.
One of the best wins of the year. Played through a cold streak and a rough whistle, both things that have thrown them off their game all year. Good coaching adjustments, excellent effort basically all game.... strong all around game
What resiliency from this team tonight. They earned this one big time. That's 2 in a row. That's a good feeling. Let's keep that feeling.
not a blowout either. they just kept responding. so gutsy on the road.
He completely turned it around. He put the team on his back at the end. And you nailed it, he had a lot of hustle plays or got to the right place at the right time. Great to see
What an awesome playoff victory.
The Cs won every quarter after losing the first by one point . Everyone contributed, the defense was fantastic and Tatum closed the game out convincingly. The 76ers played extremely hard too - this one was earned.
Yes to all of this. I bitched a lot last night but it was a great win and one of their best playoff wins over the last few years IMO. Cautiously optimistic that they have figured something out.Catching up on replay. Holy shit that was a W. They play D like that they are unbeatable. Incredible team effort. Praying the switch flipped. A harden step back from up 3-0 too.
That's why I can't game thread basketball. I don't know how you all do it. It's hard enough to watch. No other sport has near this many scoring opportunities. And of course all of ours should go in. And none of theirs should. I've actually got better at looking at the big picture while watching. Especially play away from the ball. Much better on my blood pressure.Yes to all of this. In real time it can be maddening. I try to keep the bigger picture perspective but I get lost in it sometimes. It wasn’t perfect last night but it rarely is once you’re at this stage of the season. I mean even the dynasty Pats had some very close, ugly playoff winsThat's why I can't game thread basketball. I don't know how you all do it. It's hard enough to watch. Oh I'm with you. I said I'm getting better at it. I still get lost all the time.In real time it can be maddening. I try to keep the bigger picture perspective but I get lost in it sometimes.
