Here
One thing I wonder about. Do the Patriots see the remaining tackles as worse short term and long term options than what they have, and feel like getting interior depth with a couple guys (Onwenwu, possibly Sow) who can kick to RT in an emergency as a better option.
Do they have enough non emergency Tackles?

Please turn into Joe Thunk! Wonder if this and the Andrews pick - who can also play guard - means BB plans to address our OT problem by kicking Onwenu outside
I think the real answer is he thinks we can get by with the Anderson and Reiff additions, both are lower end starting caliber players, and this draft didn't fall to him where he felt there was a short or long term starter at T in it. Bill isn't afraid to trade for tackles either (Brown, twice), so if he doesn't see a guy, he will wait.

I struggle with seeing grown men hug after making 4th and 5th round picks. 1sts I get. 2nds and 3rds I am okay with. Have to draw a line somewhere though.

They will only be kicking off a few times a game the way the offense looks, though. But yeah, the Pats punting and kickoff teams were abysmal last year.

I'd be down for this and it makes sense. Onwenwu was more than serviceable at RT.

So on Andrews, his coach at Troy was......
Former Patriots offensive line coach (and current Texans assistant O-line coach) Cole Popovich.

Edit- got this tidbit from a Texans reporter tweet mentioning Texans were fans of Andrews but chose Juice over him.

One takeaway from today.... Bill appears not to be the only one who was not a big fan of this year's WR class.

He seems to rarely be fans of the WR class, or the WR free agents, or those available in trades…but, ideally, a team needs someone to catch the ball (and throw it), no?

Yup. And depending on what they do with the next fourth im beginning to think they are fans of strong and/or Harris because this is a great round to pick running backz

He's literally used a 1st and 2nd in the previous 4 drafts on WRs (so 1/4 of all picks), has a long history of trading day for WRs (Parker, Sanu, Cooks, Moss, Welker, etc. etc.) and in the past 3 years we have signed a ton of WRs at solid $ amounts: Juju, Agholor, Bourne) not to mention TEs (Henry, Gesicki, Jonnu).

You can criticize how they turned out, but the last 4 years in particular Bill has spent a lot of resources looking for pass-catchers.

Well, I think his lack of success in the past 10-15 years at the position suggests that what he thinks of the WR class may not be all that telling; he doesn’t have a great track record there as of late. I think it largely comes down to BPA though; he’s clearly rarely drafted for immediate need (with some exceptions, like Mac).

But point taken, you are right that they have expended a lot of capital on WR in the last few years, with minimal success.
