Oh darn, I would have loved to hear the announcers pronounce that.It was Giljegiljaw
Yeah he’s been pressing all Spring. The backwards K in his final AB was a bit high. Borderline call but just not one that goes your way when you’re slumping i guess. He’s had some ugly swings, and he’s fouled off or popped up several pitches that last summer he would have hit 450 feet.Yikes. Rough game for Murakami. Didn't see the ABs so not sure if overanxious or not.
Yeah, I was thinking about just moving him down in the order. Yoshida is swinging a hot bat (so pumped for this guy on the Sox) and Ohtani is going to get pitched around so perhaps too much mentally for Murakami to have to knock in runs behind the best player on Earth and fan favorite. The pitching he's facing isn't even that good so hard to think it gets better once MLB fireballers start coming his way. But the upside is so vast that I don't think you can bench him altogether.Yeah he’s been pressing all Spring. The backwards K in his final AB was a bit high. The one bomb he hit in the exhibition games was when he was dropped from 4th to 6th in the order. But then once the tournament started he was back at cleanup and it’s been ugly.
I do still hope Kuriyama lets him hit his way out of it — both remaining pool games vs Czech & Aussie should be relatively low pressure — but if he’s still not right by the knockout stage, it’s a tough decision.
Boston. He is on a major league deal and out of options. The above had me switching stations, only to see Chang hit into a double play. Where is Chang supposed to be playing this year? Worcester? Boston?
Thank you. What position?Boston. He is on a major league deal and out of options.
The tiebreakers to advance are complicated but I assume if they're all 2-2 it would just be overall run differential, so every run even in garbage time could be important. All of pool A could end up 2-2.
Utility infield. Last year he played 1B, 2B and SS for us, plus 3B at his stops in Tampa and Cleveland.Thank you. What position?
He must have been in Worcester, or my memory is worse than I thought it was. (I don't remember seeing him in Fenway.)Utility infield. Last year he played 1B, 2B and SS for us, plus 3B at his stops in Tampa and Cleveland.
He played 11 games and had 26 plate appearances in Boston last year, all in late September/October.He must have been in Worcester, or my memory is worse than I thought it was. (I don't remember seeing him in Fenway.)
The noise in this Taipei game is so loud and the booth guys, who are good, are micked so low that I have to turn off the sound and read the captions, not ideal.
It's funny---am I the only one rooting for whichever team seems to be the underdog? I was sorry to see Japan crush the Czechs, even though a Red Sox player had a lot to do with said crushing.
Thanks. I just don't remember him, my bad.He played 11 games and had 26 plate appearances in Boston last year, all in late September/October.
I don't think the Marlins could afford 1/4 of that team. It is stacked.Team Puerto Rico should replace the Marlins. The fans and atmosphere there are great. Sounds like a World Series game.

That is true. He started game one.MLBN is telling me Matt Harvey pitches for Italy? What?
Reported attendance is 35,399. Last time the Marlins drew that many was the 2017 home opener (36,519). Excluding home openers, they've only twice had crowd that big, once in 2012 and once in 2014.Team Puerto Rico should replace the Marlins. The fans and atmosphere there are great. Go. Or don’t go. no need to legislate the decision hereYeah
Trying to figure out if I should go today or Wednesday (I’m #TEAMDR) but don’t rally feel like driving 90 mins+ each way plus looking for parking in Little Havana at night.
Wednesday atmosphere should be even more insane
Marlins full 40-man CBT payroll commitment right now: $119,666,667I don't think the Marlins could afford 1/4 of that team. It is stacked.
