Downside is you either waste a timeout or get a delay of game that can potentially matter in terms of field position when you're punting from that spot.
This feels like the opposite of a lot of 49ers games I've seen this year (including last week), where they thoroughly outplay the other team, but it's still very much a winnable game by the opposition.
In this weather that’s fair. But overall NFL punters would rather be back 5 years from there.

To each his own. This is way better than a 49-45 domeball game for me.
In about 1978, WGAN-TV (which later became WGME) interviewed my dad outside the Jordan Marsh at the Mall about this time of year.
