Assuming the top 6 stay, my captains picks are Spieth, Reed, Cantlay, Berger, Finau, and Webb personally. Scheffler, English, Homa, and Zalatoris all in consideration if they make a big push in the playoffs. With major season over, the Ryder Cup standings are starting to finalize. Current rankings on team USA
1. Collin Morikawa
2. Dustin Johnson
3. Bryson DeChambeau
4. Brooks Koepka
5. Justin Thomas
6. Xander Schauffele
7. Jordan Spieth
8. Patrick Reed
9. Harris English
10. Patrick Cantlay
11. Daniel Berger
12. Tony Finau
13-17: Webb Simpson, Scottie Scheffler, Jason Kokrak, Billy Horschel, Phil Mickelson
How's everyone filling out the roster? Due to the pandemic they are only doing 6 auto-qualifiers with 6 captains picks. In reality, I doubt Stricker goes too far off the board and I'd be stunned if anyone of the 6-10 guys get left off the team. I'd like to get Scheffler on the team, but not sure who I'd drop. I like Finau in match play and he's got a decent record in team match play. He's probably on the shakiest ground, but I'd still take him. The Phil question is kind of a big one. I can't imagine there's ever been a player who won a major in a Ryder Cup year not make their respective team (only guy I can think of is maybe Daly?). He's been lousy outside of that one magical week at Kiawah, but I don't really think he should be on the team. He's Phil though.
Shaping up to be a really solid team but we'll fuck it up somehow.
Patrick Reed should not make the team because he's a jerk. Yes, I know, he's done well in the past, but he's impossible to root for. I'd rather see Tony Finau or even Phil. With major season over, the Ryder Cup standings are starting to finalize. Current rankings on team USA

I never understood that whole line of thinking. He obviously has worlds of talent. He’s still young. A few years of bad play shouldn’t be the end of such a player’s career. And it obviously wasn’t.Also I haven't done an "I told you so" yet, but for all of those folks who were arguing with me that Spieth's career was finished as a meaningful PGA Tour player last year...he's now ranked higher in the OWGR than Rory.
And he's still only 27.
Got mine!check your emails for the annual Masters tickets denial
I don't understand the logic on Rahm unless he's showing symptoms. It's known you can shed virus for up to 50 days and result in a positive test without being contagious 10 days after your symptoms start (if you're no longer symptomatic).
President's Cup at QH in 22. One year break. They moved the Wells Fargo from Charlotte to TPC Potomac?
Is there any events in the Northeast next year besides the US Open at Brookline? That's sad about the Northern Trust. The 2022 schedule was released today.
The big news is the Scottish Open is now a PGA Tour co-sanctioned event, and alternatively the alternate Barbasol and Barracuda's will be co-sanctioned by the Euro Tour. I think that makes sense given a lot of Tour players were already playing the Scottish Open as prep for the Open. Fun little 2-week links stretch in mid-summer. Opening up the Barbasol and Barracuda to Euro members is likely a way of finding playing spots for some Euro players who will be displaced by even more PGA Tour players playing the Scottish Open now.
On a local note, it appears the Northern Trust is no-more. It was due to come to Norton next year but it's not on the schedule. The Memphis stop, this weeks St. Jude Classic, is being moved to the first playoff week next season. Also, not sure if WGC's are going away but there are only 2 listed on the schedule. The HSBC one in China in the winter and then the usual Match Play. Obviously the St. Jude is losing the WGC label as it's becoming a playoff event. The Mexico Championship is on the calendar but no WGC designation as of yet. They're kind of dumb anyways.
You think you have reached peak hate.I don't want to hear Bryson talk about science ever again but that's obviously unavoidable.
"I'm young enough, I'd rather give it [the vaccine] to people who need it. I don't need it. "I've actually always sort of gotten a kick out of him, but I think that's over. What a fool.
Bryson: Fire Ants are far more dangerous to me than Covid. He's just a dummy, plain and simple. He feels he's young and healthy therefor invincible. FWIW, I get the impression Bryson is not alone in that line of thinking among tour players. Rahm was in this category too but at least realized his error, owned it and corrected it. No data to back this up, but I'd hazard a guess that the vaccination rate is fairly low on Tour. At any rate, Bryson thinks if he gets it, worst case scenario it's a cold. He has not considered the transmission angle, his only consideration was his own health. I bet he patted himself on the back for the "give the vaccine to someone who needs it" line. He so far out of touch with reality he thinks that was a stroke of PR genius to show compassion and selflessness when it reality it makes him look like a selfish idiot. Just another incident to throw on the pile of evidence that Bryson is a doofus. "Bryson, you're a slow golfer." " But look guys! I walk the fastest to the ball between shots!" Dummy. "The camera people need to do a better job protecting the brand." "My driver sucks!!!"
“I mean, that’s just science.”Bryson: Fire Ants are far more dangerous to me than Covid.
That can't be even close to correct, unless the "stroke" is so small we don't notice. At 2% a day, we're virtually guaranteed to have one within one year (and probably a lot sooner, but a year was the duration I checked).Everybody, every day, has something like a 2% chance of having a stroke.
5, actually.Si Woo Kim with your everyday Joe 13 on the Par-3 11th......I think he lost 4 balls in the water on consecutive swings. Impressive.
The shot tracker is…interesting.Only a 155 yard hole and after the first shot he was dumping balls into the water from a drop area closer to the green.
Wow that is hysterically awesome! It resembles one of those many John Daly “F#%* Me” holes. The shot tracker is…interesting.

There’s ”aggressive“ and then there’s “insanely stubborn“ and his shots after the first water ball indicate the latter.
