Phil's truly entertaining, but I wonder whether it would translate to the booth as a lead analyst. Could he criticize play without overly mocking?

Bob Menery (of instagram, Ripper Magoo podcast fame) is a buddy of mine, and him and Phil are really close and play together a lot. Phil is a one of a kind shit talker, and stirrer. He loves the action and every aspect of it.

I’d really love to know what the action is on this between the 4 players.

Bryson: Are you comfortable with how that's going to come out of that rough?

Rodgers with a 3 wood, because he can only use it on this hole: No.

The scenery is beautiful but I can’t decide if this would be a fun course to play.
I'd rather play that place in West Virginia that Tiger played that match against Rory and a couple of others

The fun and frustrating part would be the length off the tee at that altitude combined with elevation drop off the tee boxes. Would love to see myself hit some huge drives, but seems like anything off of center is a threat to roll through the fairway.

It would be frustrating, but I think it would be a blast

I've said it before, but they should make the Scottish Open a WGC. It would make the WGC more of an actual World Golf Championship (Asia, Mexico. Scotland, US). A lot of top players already play it anyways, and from a viewing standpoint you'd get 2-weeks of high profile links golf.

Yeah, that didn’t look like your run of the mill drunken idiot. 8am too. I am surprised they didn’t have more security in closer proximity to a marquee group like that though.

The things some people do to get out of the army.
Sungjae Im and Si Woo Kim have dropped out of the Open Championship in order to focus on the Tokyo Olympics, the R&A announced Friday afternoon.
Im and Kim will represent South Korea at the golf competition in the Summer Games, scheduled to begin at the end of the month. While a handful of stars are skipping the Olympics, the Games are especially important for Im and Kim, as winning the gold medal would earn an exemption from a mandatory two-year service in the South Korean military.

That's true in all Olympic sports for the Koreans. And gold medals at the Asian Games count as well, which is quite bizarre given the much lower quality of opposition in most sports there. (For example, I was commentating on the baseball tournament at the 2018 Asian Games, and all of their KBO stars exempted from the military when they won baseball gold even though Japan fielded a scratch team and no other country could really hold a candle to them.)
