I agree. Vandalay Industries has taken a nose dive. Now Carlo... what a tough season for industries

Terrible news. Carlo was playing really well recently.Same injury as McQuaid. Hard to pin point exactly how long Mcquaid was truly out because they strung it out as long as they could, but their original time frame for him was 8 weeks.
Feel bad for Brandon. Second year in a row he’s suffered an injury on the eve of the playoffs.
The second I saw the replay I thought it was a broken tibia. That it's only the fibula is much better news. The toe getting stuck in the ice has a Gordon Hayward vibe to it. I would assume the skate and laces going a bit up the leg gave some protection to the tibia itself.Boston Sports Journal says broken fibula as well. Maybe if they make the Cup Finals he could return. Their ortho says if no surgery could return in 2-6 weeks but surgery he’s back in 4-6 months.
Why would they risk that? He’s done.Boston Sports Journal says broken fibula as well. Maybe if they make the Cup Finals he could return.
Because it's the Stanley Cup Final. If they're in it and he's healthy he's going to play if he's better than the alternatives. A lot of things have to happen to even be in a position to worry about this. I'm operating on the assumption that we'll see him in training camp but if by chance all the above conditions are true, he'll play. Why would they risk that? He’s done.
Can you be sure a young guy who has been on the shelf for a month and a half will be better than a guy who has been playing throughout? The Cup Finals aren’t a time to be shaking off rust.Because it's the Stanley Cup Final. If they're in it and he's healthy he's going to play if he's better than the alternatives. No you can't be sure of that. We don't know what the injuries will be at that point. That's one of the conditions I outlined. If it's a rusty Carlo over an NHL defenseman who's been playing, then it's a no brainer, Carlo sits. If it's a rusty Carlo over AHL filler like Tommy Cross or a kid like Zboril, Lauzon, or Johanssen that have never played in the NHL, you go with Carlo. Can you be sure a young guy who has been on the shelf for a month and a half will be better than a guy who has been playing throughout? I agree with Drew, unless an injury occurs that forces the Bruins to try bringing Carlo back into service, he’s done
Ok, we’re actually in agreement... I read “better than the alternatives” as possibly meaning someone like Holden, which there’s no way they take the risk.No you can't be sure of that. Yes we are. All I was trying to get across is that they shouldn't rule anyone out unless they absolutely have to because if there is a shot that Carlo could come back, negating the need to play AHL filler in a playoff game, that could be the difference between winning and losing. That's why Sweeney built up as much depth as he did.Ok, we’re actually in agreement... I wasn't ruling anyone out and obviously circumstances always dictate what happens, but it seems that a kid having 5-6 weeks off after injury to his foot, then getting out there in the Finals would be a gutsy, gutsy call.Yes we are. I’ve been saying for a while that Riley reminds me of 2011 Chris Kelly, and with that kind of stitch job, is he going to wear a cage going into the playoffs???40 stitches is quite a sewing job, but NESN is claiming Riley Nash might be back by FLA game, which at least indicates that he should be ready by the playoffs.

Is it? Couldn't TB still tie in points and end up with more ROW?That's good because if they win tonight that's a guarantee to play NJ and a trip to the second round.
New Jersey could also pass Philly. Which would by no means be an easy series but still a better scenario than having to play against Toronto and deal with all the BS that comes along with that. That's good because if they win tonight that's a guarantee to play NJ and a trip to the second round.
Yes. Stop worrying about the second round until the second round begins.Am I the only one worried about Toronto upsetting an injured/slumping TB and dealing with the bullshit a round later?
I don’t think its as harsh or obvious as a shattered bone, since right after the injury they said they were waiting for the swelling to go down for a more definitive look. Could still be a fracture or break of some kind though. Is it a little weird they haven't announced Carlo is done? I feel if he blew an ACL or shattered a bone and was clearly done they would announce it. If he had a chance to play, they would just announce it as an LBI.
Am I grasping at straws? I feel like I'm grasping at straws.
You don't consider a break in one of the two support structures of the human body to be significant?Terming it "significant" has me concerned that it is more than just a broken leg/season ending.
Hope there isn't any impact whatsoever to his future prospects, he was really coming on the last few weeks.
Rub some dirt on it!Terming it "significant" has me concerned that it is more than just a broken leg/season ending.

Same thing theoretically happened to Ryan Suter on Saturday and it has already been confirmed he needs surgery and will miss the rest of the season. You don't consider a break in one of the two support structures of the human body to be significant?
