The only way to do that is to do it quick and early. All this fiddling and diddling won't cut it.

First we heard that the Heat might be out. Then his website crashed. Then the reports started trickling in.

Not to get too ahead of things, but what do the Celtics have to do to actually create the room for Hayward now?
My understanding is that they have to pull Olynyk's QO, renounce guys like Jerepko, Young, and Green, and then they'd still need to move Smart or Rozier. Is that right?

Actually, this tracks with it being a leak from someone in his camp. Hayward hasn't told them "directly"...someone did though, and Celtics won't confirm because clearly Hayward should control the process.
Gordon Hayward's agent, Mark Bartelstein, tells ESPN: "Gordon hasn't made a decision yet. We are still working through it."

They need to review the play upstairs first----the coach and key players are telling everyone on the field the same.
If it's Rozier, Demetrius Jackson has to go too.
This is where the short playoffs killed them, before the last minute reduction Jackson was all it took.

Yup. Hayward wants to control the announcement and someone screwed it up.
