Good point. Obviously Floyd isn't Julio -- pretty much no one is -- but I don't think they're "miles" away from each other either. There aren't many 6'3", 220 wide receivers who were taken in the 1st round of the draft. Going by raw attributes -- leaving aside hands and route running and the rest -- Julio's faster, stronger, and quicker, but not many guys are a better double for Julio than Floyd. It's kind of nice, if fairly inconsequential in the grand scheme, to have Michael Floyd "playing" Julio Jones for the scout team this week. Not that he's even within miles of the guy, talent-wise, but he can give them looks better than a typical practice squad-er would.
Who knows how much it will end up helping, but I always remember how much the team and players credited Damon Huard's uncanny imitation of Peyton before the 2003 AFC Championship Game with their performance that day.
