For a league that Zapruders every angle and inch, why are they consistently not calling the delay of game penalty when the clock hits :00?

Honestly once they make it clear they are calling it offense will start snapping it quicker.
The value of the league is still hovering a bit below $1 trillion, so they really don’t have the resources to call it without relying on whether some dude happens to be watching the clock.
40 seconds should be plenty of time, unless you’re following up on a long completion. All the needless, paranoid complexity from OC’s doesn’t help.
I missed the leg landing. I thought they were calling it based on the contact while he was catching it.
The alternative was a TFL. He could’ve sold it a little better, but I agree with his choice in the moment to make the official throw the flag.
That's still down by contact btw. I hate the rule, but if you are contacted while in the process of catching the ball you are down, even if it's before full possession.
