...the fact that the coaching staff sees Manning everyday in practice and knows how much he has lost in arm strength.

 
I think the lack of arm strength changed the offense a while ago, made it easier to defend, and in took until the Jets game for teams to realize it. Rex put the blueprint out there and they've had to go to the run because the pass wasn't working anymore.

Guys, Manning has 37 TDs and a 106 rating. This isn't Derek Jeter's Negative WAR last season.

 
He may still be good at keeping his stats up but this is the worst Manning we've seen in a while.

Jim Daopolous (sp?) was on with Felger and Mazz today talking about the amendola play when his helmet was ripped off. He said that grabbing any helmet "opening" is a penalty
