Ooh that’s sharp. Bravo. It's why when Witten scored a touchdown yesterday, it was such a surprise. He made actual points on TV!

Games.Drew Brees last 6+ quarters have been ass. I'm fully on the Max Kellerman cliff argument for Brees.
Yeah I thought that immediately. You don't run off the clock based on when the review is initiated. They were running the next play at 26.Saints got screwed out of 15 seconds. Awesome.

Yep, I don't understand that at all. Did they call the catch incomplete, and then say it was complete? Did they just change the spot?Shouldn't the run off have occurred from what the time was when the catch happened not after NO just about ran another play?
They’re too busy talking about voodoo rituals meant to excise the curse that has befallen the Saints.Yep, I don't understand that at all. Did they call the catch incomplete, and then say it was complete? Did they just change the spot?
The clock kept running after he made the catch, so I thought they called it complete. It kept on running all the way until New Orleans lined up, and snapped the ball to run the sneak. So, basically, if the call wasn't reviewed, the Saints would have had a first down after the sneak with 24 seconds or so. They basically took away the time it took for the Saints to line up and run their next play, AND then an additional 10 seconds. It doesn't make any sense. And I thought his explanation was that because it was ruled incomplete and overturned, there was a run-off, but if it was ruled incomplete, the clock should have stopped with about 40 seconds on it.
I fucking hate the ESPN broadcast crews, who literally don't even notice what's happening on the field, because they have to get their pre-ordained storylines and bullshit out. Just fucking tell me what's happening in the game, I don't really care about anything else.

That's what I initially thought, but either way, it should not have resulted in the Saints losing the time it took for the booth to call down an initiate the review, and another 10 seconds. The Saints had already gotten the next play off, so that 10 seconds was literally a penalty because the refs didn't get the call right on the field.Complete in bounds short of the 1st down was ruling on field, iirc
Edit: the replay was because the receiver made the first and initial ruling had him short
His line blows. He's still accounted for 200 yards and 3 TDs.At what point in Watson's career will he try to learn to read a defense/blitz, etc. pre-snap? Why don't teams other than the Pats use motion to figure out what the defense is doing, ie. zone/man?
I swear Watson doesn't even know what a "hot route" is. He spends so much time back there looking to go deep all the time, and that's why he gets absolutely mauled so often. He won't last 8 weeks before getting injured again.
And this. BB would line him up as a RB or FB with Brees in the game so at least there's a possibility of multiple things happening..I swear, someone knocking Taysom Hill out of the NFL with a monster shot would be a good thing for the Saints. Peyton's insistence on using him instead of letting Brees and Co. do their thing is a fucking joke.
It was lost in the Donald and Mack seasons, but Watt had a monster season last year.I'm actually a fan of JJ Watt, but I don't see him playing longer than one more season after this one. He's a step slower already and he's got some serious mileage on his body.
I wouldn't say they blow. They ran the ball very effectively last year. Watson just holds, and holds and holds the ball forever. He was 4th last in the NFL last year in time to throw at 3.01 seconds. The only people worse were Josh Allen, Russell Wilson and Lamar Jackson, all guys who hold the ball a lot and run with it, a lot. In 2017, Watson was dead last at 3.10.His line blows. He's still accounted for 200 yards and 3 TDs.
This is an important distinction to make. Mobile QBs that thrive operating out of the pocket and making plays downfield are often more responsible for sacks they take than the offensive line. Offensive lines are designed to pass protect by setting up a pocket for a QB to pass from; when a QB freelances and moves outside the pocket, lines aren’t designed to hold up like that. The reason Brady doesn’t get sacked is because he gets the ball out quick and his O Line always knows where he is going to be.I wouldn't say they blow. They ran the ball very effectively last year. For comparison, Tom Brady was 2.61, Brees was 2.59, Big Ben was 2.55, Rivers was 2.62, Luck was 2.63.
He needs to make quicker decisions and not look for the home run ball all the time.
As much as any fanTessitore is talking like he’s a fucking color analyst. What the hell does he know about Watson’s ‘development’?
That last sack was a perfect example of this. Watson went into a 3 step drop, and then shuffled his feet back another 2+ yards, and the left tackle, Tunsil, was playing his man to go outside. Watson should never have been there, never felt the pressure and sacked, when he had a clean pocket to step up into. This is an important distinction to make. I’m always impressed when people consistently lament how poor Wilson and Rodgers’ offensive line is, when playing outside the pocket and getting chased by defensive players is a key part of their playing style. That last sack was a perfect example of this. Ramcyzk has handled himIf they hadn't just showed Watt I would have completely forgotten he was on the field tonight. They must be triple teaming him every snap.
Just checked the box score. Not a single tackle.
