Went to my first game of the year today, thanks to Napkin, and what a fucking game it was. I've been lucky enough to see a ton of great sporting events in person, but this was probably the most fun I've had in a regular season Bruins game.
My son just turned 7, and I brought him, and about halfway through the first period, he asked me what happened if there was a tie. Trying to explain overtime rules/shootouts to him was like trying to explain nuclear physics to a cat, so I was damn happy for a few reasons when Marchand scored his first goal, sending it to OT, and then he got to see it in person (which always makes learning something easier, IMO). Never had to go so far as to see a shootout though, for which I couldn't be more thankful. Saw someone joke in here that they should consider pulling Rask in OT, which was funny, because me and the guy next to me were joking about the same thing at the time. I guess it kind of leads to a question though. Let's say it's game 81 or whatever, and the B's need 2 points to get into the playoffs. Do they consider doing that? I say Claude wouldn't even think about it, whereas BB would not only have thought about it, he'd do it in a heartbeat. Nothing to lose at that point, right?
