I thought he was the one that was supposed to turn the franchise around after the triumphant return in 2011.

They went 83-79 last year, three games out of a WC spot. Things really just bottomed out this season

As a follower of the twins, they should be jettisoning their drek, not their cost controlled decent players.
The problem is that there won't be too many takers for their drek either, unless packaged with a cost controlled decent player, which may also lessen the return for said cost controlled decent player.
You think Farrell has made some questionable decisions? You should have watched some of the Twins games. HOF Paul Molitor as much as I like him has put his team in some questionable positions. Someone has to do that job and he'll finish it out. It's a shit show organization at the moment.
Saw a brief summary on MLBN and they said Ryan was one of the least up to speed GMs in sabermetrics. Then, they showed his old bald head.
I gotta agree, and I liked the Molitor hire. He seems like a pretty bright, open-minded baseball lifer. But he doesn't seem to have any consistent managerial philosophy. It's like he's constantly balancing gut calls with overthinking.
Ryan, though. Geez. Their pro scouting has been awful forever. It took him 2 decades to realize that you sometimes have to pay for a solid free agent or two, and even then, their choices have been highly suspect. Something as simple as getting a major league-caliber CF who could start if Buxton wasn't ready (he wasn't) and then move into a #4 role was apparently too much to ask. And don't get me started on the play-Sano-in-RF decision because, you know, Plouffe.
David Ortiz told the Minnesota media in spring training that this was a bad move. They seemed to listen. But not Molitor or Ryan.
