Are you being sarcastic? To me, this statement is simply intended to isolate any potential punishment to the player, rather than the team. "We did our due diligence - any counterfeiting is on AB." The chef's claim could be bogus, but I don't think this statement proves anything.Apparently looks like chefs claim is bogus View: https://mobile.twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1461464513484623882
why do I feel like Florida might not be the most organized state to be able to confirm something like this? The simplest thing would be to check if he’s in the state database or if he used the NFLPA health plan during the appointment. If not, he’s probably screwed.
The state dept of health should have such records. In practical terms, the difficulty is that it can take a week or two to get the results from a request (not sure if they can ethically expedite a request fromI know we are using the card as a short-hand way for people to prove they are vaccinated, but aren't there state vaccination records behind that that Brown could provide to the Bucs if they asked? My wife is dealing with this right now, she has a card that shows two Pfizer shots from the spring, but for whatever reason CVS thinks she only has one. I told her to just go get her booster from Wallgreens or whatever but nobody will let her book a booster shot because the state records only show her as having one shot.
The state database is not open to the public. People can’t call Walgreens to confirm their neighbor’s vax is legit. My wife can’t call Tufts Med Ctr to verify my card is legit. The simplest thing would be to check if he’s in the state database or if he used the NFLPA health plan during the appointment. We had a pilot here fake a vaccination card and the CVS did confirm that she was not in their database as having been vaccinated as was indicated on her card. They obviously should not have done that but the giveaway was the lot numbers for the Pfizer shot were the same even though the shot dates were 3 weeks apart. The state database is not open to the public. The majority of these cards are handwritten. Oh let’s call CVS store 5673 …or is it 5613… to get the pharmacist to hang up on us.
There’s no way to verify unless you demand the player get certification from the provider or the state…. Of course that certification can get easily faked too.
Has she tried getting a "second" shot?I know we are using the card as a short-hand way for people to prove they are vaccinated, but aren't there state vaccination records behind that that Brown could provide to the Bucs if they asked? "He got them from another player who was selling them," said Ruiz, who declined to name the player. "That player came over to the house multiple times. He had to get another copy of Cyd's vaccine card because they got her birthday wrong on the first one."
Still three more than Rodgers got for knowingly violating all of the NFL protocols. Brown lied and deserved more, but Rodgers should have been suspended.Posted in the other thread, but to the surprise of literally no one, Brown did fake his vaccination card...and only got a 3 game suspension.

2 other bucs did as well. Bruce Arians continues to run a tight ship.
As per the bolded, I'm no Bruce Arians fan, but what's he supposed to do? If all of a sudden a similar story happens on the Pats, is that BB's fault? These guys are all grown-ass men. It shouldn't be Arians' problem to do a forsenic investigation on Vax cards.Posted in the other thread, but to the surprise of literally no one, Brown did fake his vaccination card...and only got a 3 game suspension.

Seriously, what an odd thing to say about Arians. As per the bolded, I'm no Bruce Arians fan, but what's he supposed to do? If all of a sudden a similar story happens on the Pats, is that BB's fault? These guys are all grown-ass men. It shouldn't be Arians' problem to do a forsenic investigation on Vax cards.
He's not going to get paid while suspended. If he was injured, he would. But you are right, Browns antics are stacking up and it is not good.More proof of what a horrible person AB is. I have no idea how, as a repeat offender of the league's Personal Conduct Policy (multiple times), he gets off as easy as he does, and why he's even been allowed to play without suspension for TB until now (Isn't he still facing battery charges?) And isn't he injured, anyway? So is he really gonna miss a game because of this suspension?
And FU, Goodell, for continuing to make it up as you go. Nothing for Rodgers? The same punishment for Brown as two others? NFL administration is such a joke.
1) Arians brought in AB after everything - including DV, assaults etc...As per the bolded, I'm no Bruce Arians fan, but what's he supposed to do? 3) Arians dismissed the story initially and said there was "no story" - did not speak with Brown about it. He could not have been more dismissive of it.Alex Guerrero, a personal trainer and co-founder of TB12 with Tom Brady, arrived at Brown’s house the same night to help the 33-year-old Pro Bowler recover from knee surgery. According to Ruiz, Guerrero took a photograph of Brown’s vaccination card while he was there.
To document the list of vaccinated players as quickly as possible, the Bucs would sometimes have Guerrero or others in the organization photograph the cards to send to head trainer Bobby Slater and eventually to their infection control officer.
IDK. My work requires us to be vaccinated and those of use who work remotely had to provide an image of the vaccination card. Guerrero and others helping speed the process likely simply meant that somebody, anybody, who actually knew how to get a digital image uploaded to wherever the Bucs wanted it to be was welcome to help, since I'm guessing many of the players are pretty helpless in this regard. I doubt any workplaces are giving cards/images much scrutiny at all.1) Arians brought in AB after everything - including DV, assaults etc...
2) Arians and/or the Bucs had Alex fucking Guerrero collecting pictures of the vaccine cards to "speed the process." Certainly not the height of responsible medical work.
3) Arians dismissed the story initially and said there was "no story" - did not speak with Brown about it. He could not have been more dismissive of it.
He followed up with
"“When a guy gives me the card, I’m good with it,” Arians added. “I don’t know how this story got going, other than somebody wanted some money.”
If the Pats allowed Alex Fucking Guerrero to collect vaccine cards on AB - yeah, I'd be giving BB shit for it.
Good to know he now has a backup career when his football days are up.AB will be elected governor of Florida if the fake is confirmed.
Especially considering the FU flex to the players about how anyone forcing a team for forfeit would cost the whole team revenue and a loss.Three games is fucking ridiculous.
What's the point of having these COVID protocols if there aren't severe consequences for not following them? I've done a million ethics and compliance investigations in my career. The one thing that you absolutely cannot allow is someone who is willing to lie to an investigator or forge/falsify official records. There's just no way to protect yourself against bad actors willing to do that kind of thing, so when we find them those people get the hammer. I get that the NFL isn't the real world and I generally hate when people compare their own workplace to professional sports, and I don't expect Brown to be banned for life for this, but three games is just completely ridiculous. Yet not surprising knowing the NFL.
I also have a lot of shame. Game is just so damn interesting and consistent winning and intrigue for NE has sucked me in and kept me hooked. The bullshit league management though…constantly frustrating.Especially considering the FU flex to the players about how anyone forcing a team for forfeit would cost the whole team revenue and a loss.
I swear, our kids are going to look back at us glorifying this game like we look at smokers or lobotomies.
Good to know covid/political takes with no actual bearing on the subject at hand are allowed in this forum again. It always makes SoSH a better place when those things leak out of V&N.AB will be elected governor of Florida if the fake is confirmed.
Not acceptable outside of V&N. This will serve as your only warning.AB will be elected governor of Florida if the fake is confirmed.
That's where Arians (or whoever is in charge) is at fault, IMO. If Brady wants Guerrero fine. But in anything remotely "medical" involving other players, he *should* be a million miles away.If the Pats allowed Alex Fucking Guerrero to collect vaccine cards on AB - yeah, I'd be giving BB shit for it.
I don’t disagree, but both put others at risk because of their actions. This is where the league goes wrong, in my opinion. They get tangled in distinctions and lose sight of principles. It’s a maladroit way to discipline.Brown is not vaccinated and produced a fake vaccine card.
Rodgers was cute with the public and his "immunized" comment, but did not mislead the league. He told them he was not vaccinated.
Rodgers should've gotten more than a slap on the wrist for violating protocols as an unvaxxed player, but the distinction between the two is Rodgers never misled the league while Brown did.
This thread has discussed Tom and the Bucs - which are pretty interrelated since Tom, like, plays for the Bucs - for some time.Bucs thread I thought.
Right, but the post he responded to (since edited) seemed to think this was a Brady thread and not a Bucs thread. This thread has discussed Tom and the Bucs - which are pretty interrelated since Tom, like, plays for the Bucs - for some time.
