I grew up a Giants fan, for the reasons mentioned above (always on the NFC affiliate in western MA...plus...Dad). I remember this game well. They had a big lead. Shockey had a TD go through his hands in the first half, and Strahan talked shit to TO after he scored to cut the lead. I also remember watching the Flipper Anderson game as a 13-year-old and being devastated as he ran into the end zone and out through the tunnel.
There was also the playoff choke against the Vikings in 1997.
Which is why, when current Giant fans thump their chest in regards to 2007 and 2011, I just can't get behind it, because they were a clownshow from 1991-2007, with a brief respite to receive an ass-kicking by the 2000 Ravens. The proof is in the pudding. How many shitty seasons have the G-men had in between and around/after '07 and '11? As opposed to the Patriots, who just keep producing.
I will always believe that it was expectations and injuries (Stephen Neal, Logan Mankins, Gronk of course) rather than the quality of those NYG teams that beat the Patriots. They didn't win; we lost. I know that organization very well. The last legit team they had was 1990. If any NYG fan wants to come at me over that statement, I will match team knowledge with them any day of the week. I used to be a NYG SoSH-er. I know that org inside and out. They sucked for a decade and a half before Tyree.
Sorry for the thread derail. So...Brady's finger, huh?
