I'm going to reject the hypotheses of Shank, Volin, and Gasper and chalk up the offensive performance from the offense the result of a perfect storm of playing against a team that brought it's varsity on defense combined with a couple of bad turnovers. We did see Houston execute to perfection the recipe for beating the Pats: generate interior pressure while rushing 4 and keeping Brady's targets covered. As noted by multiple posters, Houston was probably the only remaining AFC team that could do that.
Dion Lewis still gets a game ball; he was truly a difference maker on offense that this team did not have last season's playoffs. Edelman gets the remaining game ball on offense, although Hogan should get an honorable mention. Also, McDaniels gets a mention for at least countering the pressure with some hurry up plays as well as opportunistically dialing in the deep ball
Defense gets a team game ball; I don't care that they were playing against an inept squad. If forced to choose, I would give individual balls to McCourty and Ryan.
EDIT: Slater and the special teams squad in general deserve the game ball. Great punt coverage all night.
Dishonorable mentions go to Rowe, who's completely needless penalty should have been a cut-able offense had the Pats lost, and Bennett, who was basically invisible even before he got hurt.
