I called it in the offseason...chances the Sox get anything for him?

That makes no sense for NY, are they going to carry three guys who can't play anywhere but SS? Maybe they are going to release Brian Roberts and let Brendan Ryan play 2B until Kelly Johnson is back, but Ryan is under contract for next season so he won't be the one to go.

When he's committed to sell, Trader Ben is not afraid to help out a divisional rival. Drew is an excellent fit in Yankee Stadium, and will probably have a significant revival.

Probably very little coming back - Yankees can't afford to give up any prospects, but can certainly pay the remaining salary

Last time the Sox traded someone to the Yankees, the return eventually netted Pedro.  Wonder what they'll get with their Yankee prospect this time.

Yeah, I have to imagine this is a salary dump deal, with maybe a lottery ticket coming back, or maybe a PTBNL.

EDIT: Or the actual equivalent of a PTBNL later in Kelly Johnson.

I was going to suggest the return should be for Jeter so the Sox could outright him to Pawtucket, but Jeter's actually worse that our shortstop at Pawtucket.  Or Portland, for that matter.

I only hope this means that Stephen will be an integral part of the rest of the Jeter farewell tour.
