In a vacuum, I love his style, Southampton was really fun to watch last year. But I also loved AVB's style of play before he got to Tottenham.
Spurs failed miserably pressing teams this season, but they kept doing it anyway. Their back line is extremely ill suited to play a high line. I love Dawson but he can't move, it's best for both parties for him to move on, he is a square peg in a round hole. He'd be a valuable asset for a lower/mid table team playing a more conservative style. Vertonghen doesn't often make mistakes, but when he does, they are catastrophic. I can live with that with everything else he brings to the table, but he hasn't shown to be a consistently very good CB in the premier league yet. I thought Vlad was great on the ball but had questionable marking and recovery pace. Overall was not impressed. Kaboul is constantly hurt and not someone any team should count on. Naughton was a dumpster fire at LB, and somewhat less awful at RB. Walker is great going forward but makes his share of Vertonghen-esque bad plays in his own half. I like Danny Rose. I don't think their back line is nearly good enough right now. Maybe there's a chance Dejan Lovren follows Pochettino to Spurs? That would be huge.
I'll save my venting about the rest of the team for another day.
