Love looking at older cards and seeing old versions of current stadiums, or the now non-existent stadiums
Thanks for this. Hopefully, they can handle the million plus cards I'm going to be sending them in the near future (once my wife finishes her massive basement renovation project and I can actually get down there and figure out where my shit got moved to). There's a charity called "Commons For Kids" that takes in common cards and, well, donates them to kids -- at shelters, underfunded schools, community centers, etc.

[If I just caused that other goddamned jingle to get stuck in your head, I apologize.]
I was watching the Pedro/Clemens 2000 dual where Trot hits the 2 out homer in the 9th.Love looking at older cards and seeing old versions of current stadiums, or the now non-existent stadiums
That’s the one impossible to get too. They all have paper loss it seems.
Oh cool. I’d love to get a Raffy/Xander RC. Just not sure which one.
Nice. Curiosity wants me to see the Clemens but I'm scared of the envy.Hobby Box contained a #/199 Aaron Nola game used Jersey 1986 Variant black border, and a Chrome #/25 Clemens 1986 orange refractor as big hits. Minor hits were #/299 Scherzer, Acuna, Yordan and Lindor rainbow chrome, and a few foils (Nico Hoerner Future Star, and a couple others).
The Clemens is absolutely sick.
It's certainly copyright infringement at the least, assuming he's not bought a license from those old card makers. So apparently there's this ******** who takes expensive cards and reprints them. Just because it does say reprint in the description doesn't make this not IP fraud, right? Hope he gets what's coming. Is Fleer still in business? I don't know. But Topps is for sure.
Yep. This is a bubble that won't last. NFT's are similar.Maybe we're due for a thread title change. A Luca Doncic 2018/19 Panini card just sold for...wait for it....$4.6 MILLION. That's the 2nd highest price every paid for a sport card behind a '52 Mantle that sold for $5.2M.
If there were any doubts left they are gone - the industry has officially lost its mind.

I sort of get high prices for older cards like a Mantle, Jordan, Gretzky, etc rookie. Those players have done what they've done and there's no undoing that. What if Doncic snaps his ACL tonight and is never the same? On what planet does this make sense? And while we're here, 'get off my lawn' etc etc...
Right? With Mantle and pre-expansion era cards they're historical relics and the scarcity developed organically. Tons of those cards were printed and many were thrown away or damaged over the years. PSA says there are only three '52 Mickey Mantle cards that they've graded 10, only 6 graded 9, etc.I sort of get high prices for older cards like a Mantle, Jordan, Gretzky, etc rookie. Now Topps makes a 1/1 rookie card that's a special color with some extra shiny flair thrown in and inserts it into a pack like a Wonky golden ticket. Then they make another 25 in a different color, then 100 on top of that, and so on. It strikes me like the Danbury Mint stuff that gets sold on QVC.
You have a couple grand to spare?1959 Topps is an awesome set
Was the Henderson graded? I've got a couple, but not graded. The price fluctuates wildly depending on the grade, obviously. I'm trying to figure out if I should sell them while the market is hot. All info appreciated! So I did the stupidest thing...
I bought a Rickey Henderson RC for my brother.
It was a low grade (like a 6.5 BGS). It wasn't expensive but it was a birthday gift, and he doesn't care about grade - just lots of memories of the card. Was the Henderson graded? I'm sure you've tried this already, but did you try contacting PayPal or the underlying carrier (USPS/UPS)? They may have a way to put a stop on it before it leaves the country. So I did the stupidest thing...
I bought a Rickey Henderson RC for my brother. Put it in a mailer...and used Paypal shipping (which I always use, and my wife uses for her business) and shipped it off.
Checked the tracking...and SOMEHOW, instead of CANADA, I put CONGO.
Now - I'm HOPEFUL they look at the address and see the Postal Code and put two and two together. But I don't know. I tried to replicate the error - and CONGO isn't even on their fucking list of countries. So I'm like...what the fuckkkkkk. The price was the same as shipping to canada normally, too. So I'm so confused.
Yeah, I talked to them. They said it'll either be fixed and sent to the right place, or returned to me. But they also didn't know how I did the Congo as that's not on their supported countries list.I'm sure you've tried this already, but did you try contacting PayPal or the underlying carrier (USPS/UPS)? Alright I can get one more.
Authentic aged cards are a sight to behold.
I’m angling to get a Yaz rookie. Looks like it was well loved but that adds to the charm.
I feel like there should be an attachment here. Some inspiration for you
