Man what a fucking legendary performance from Ward. He took his soul with those body shots.
Brutal shots from Ward. Great champion.
That ref is hot garbage. Only one who was worse was Joe Cortez.
I stopped watching after they showed the replays which were inconclusive. Unless they showed a different angle, I didn't see anything clear. He stopped the fight after 3 clear low blows. That was stupid to me. Doesn't take anything away from Ward.
This is where I'm at, too. Ward clearly won the round, and was likely on his way to winning the fight. I thought the last shots were low blows, but hey, judgment call. But I don't see any reason to stop the fight there without at minimum a standing eight,I stopped watching after they showed the replays which were inconclusive. When he stepped in, I was expecting a standing eight. I didn't think Kovalev had stopped defending to a point that deserved a stoppage.

No standing eight count per the rules of the bout. IMO, if no ropes were present, Kovalev probably goes down on his ass, so a KD and a count probably would have been the right call anyway.I stopped watching after they showed the replays which were inconclusive. Body shots yeah, but look at this right hand:Man what a fucking legendary performance from Ward. He took his soul with those body shots.
Thanks! That was a straight shot to the yam bag.Edit: Pretty clear replay of the last punch here:
Too bad Weeks wasn't looking right at it.Thanks! That was a straight shot to the yam bag.
LOL, adjust to low blows. How clear was it? He gave two warnings, and Ward was throwing low blows in the first fight, too. Why should Kovalev have to adjust to illegal punches without complaint?
Also, IMO the argument that he didn't protest the stoppage is nonsense. He didn't know immediately what was going on, and you're basically calling him a liar for saying he didn't think the fight shouldn't have been stopped. He gets the benefit of the doubt from me.
As for Roy Jones Jr., I can't say. I watched the SkySports feed, where the announcers thought Kovalev was winning decisively, and thought the blows were clearly low.
And so when you're hurt and against the ropes and the guy starts pounding you in the nuts, it's all in the game, yo?Dude when you feel you're getting hit low....you hit low right back. That happens like every fight. You don't whine like a bitch. You get just as dirty.
The last shot was on the belt. The commission will tell duva and kovalev the exact same thing when they appeal. And so when you're hurt and against the ropes and the guy starts pounding you in the nuts, it's all in the game, yo?
I had a filing my team f'ed up and was at the office till 6 am Friday night, otherwise we would've been there. Just glad I knew not to book the flight beforehand. You could have caught a plane and gotten in for free. They were giving away tickets before the fight to fill the empty seats
This guy looks a lot bigger than Manny
Yeah it's funny. I used to love moving a bunch when I first started. But damn it tired you out quick.Horn already looks tired. Bleeding badly too.
Horn with amateurish bull rush tactics. Fuck this guy.
