I've never been happier to be in stop-and-go traffic than during those two Gronk bits.

I was just about to post this, holy crap was that funny this morning. Fred has really gotten tired of Gronk's antics and it's hilarious the way they tool on him.Rook05 said:I've never been happier to be in stop-and-go traffic than during those two Gronk bits.

"Can I have your pee" slayed me.The Allented Mr Ripley said:Fred's Eddie Money impressions kill me. This morning he busted out the line "I'm evidence there's no God" to the tune of "Take Me Home Tonight" (cramming extra syllables in and all) and I almost drove off the road.
Did you hear is Headlines?Rook05 said:Dammit. I tuned out during Adolofo's improv rehearsal. Good lord, was that punishing.

The only time this show frustrates me is on week's like this building up the AFC Championship game. I am excited for the game, I want Pats talk, I don't care if it's the same story lines beaten to death, I just want to hear about the Pats right now.
This morning they had a some game for callers that focused around Mazz being liking to smoke pot and it being legal in Denver. It wasn't very good and it wasn't about the Pats. The absolutely worse part is that it made me change my dial to WEEI, which thank god, had an interview with Matt Light. So it was tolerable, but just hearing those douche bags asking questions caused me to get angry.
Why would anyone want to hear non-stop, fabricated story lines?( . ) ( . ) and (_!_) said:I love the Toucher and Rich show, it is hysterical, gives me enough sports info to listen to in the morning, it's just a great part of my morning drive. Ah ok, Yea, because I am already sick of the Manning/Brady legacy talk. I get you.( . ) ( . ) and (_!_) said:
Maybe I should reset.
I wish on weeks like this they were able to do more interviews centered on the Pats (or if it was world series week, more interviews on the sox, etc...). Or more bashing columnists for writing stupid articles about the game. Or just talking more about the Pats.
I'm just excited for the game and my wife and the people I work with don't feel that same excitement, so I am looking for an outlet to satisfy that need is all.
Jeez, I find interviews the least interesting part of any radio show, especially with athletes. 99% of the time these guys are coached up to be as bland as possible. Plus, when T&R are doing these, you can hear Fred struggling with his boredom.( . ) ( . ) and (_!_) said:Maybe I should reset.

Not only that, but even if he had said "nonplussed" he was using it incorrectly anyway. He used it in reference to everyone freaking out and going wild, making a lot of commotion. Which is, you know, the opposite.
http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/nonplussedIn standard use, nonplussed means ‘surprised and confused’: the hostility of the new neighbor’s refusal left Mrs. Walker nonplussed. In North American English, a new use has developed in recent years, meaning ‘unperturbed’—more or less the opposite of its traditional meaning: hoping to disguise his confusion, he tried to appear nonplussed. This new use probably arose on the assumption that non- was the normal negative prefix and must therefore have a negative meaning. It is not considered part of standard English.

Eh, there's a lot of confusion around this word. Per the Oxford English Dictionary:

I didn't hear the interview, but during the late 7 am hour Fred was talking about the weird beef that Wallach has with him. Didn't really give the background behind it though.NortheasternPJ said:Wtf was with Wallach destroying the guy from Denver basically calling him a no one sports host in the 20th market?
Was he trying to be funny or just being an asshole. Big words from a glorified 50 year old update guy.
Wallach has some kind of irrational dislike/hatred towards the guy. His vague attempts to explain it have been things like the guy is a phony/smug/full of himself-- no specific beef/feud/insult exchange or anything, just Wallach hates the guy from Denver. It's weird, and it's a known thing on the show.NortheasternPJ said:Wtf was with Wallach destroying the guy from Denver basically calling him a no one sports host in the 20th market?

Yes he is, and his parents still live just outside of Boston. Darren Mckie is cohost of Denver's afternoon show, along with former Bronco Alfred Williams. They're both pretty good, and not as ridiculously homers as some other shows out here. It was weird that Wallach went off on him, but I think it was pseudo planned given how fast Mckie had the stats to defend himself.Buffalo Head said:Isn't that guy in Denver originally from around here and they have fun with him every year? That's what I thought before this call but Wallach went to full dick mode insulting the guy.Andy Merchant said:I thought it was fake like the "Wallach hates Dale Arnold" schtick.

Wallach is a turd who doesn't "get" it. He has no comedic timing/talent at all, so this is believable.TheRealness said:
I felt he was playing up the "hate" quite a bit during their most recent interaction. I didn't get the impression it was very genuine.
He said it was aimed at a very small vocal minority.allstonite said:I love this show and listen almost every day it must be slow because they are having my least favorite sports argument ever: Patriots fans should be happy 100% of the time.
Basically Fred is saying we can't be mad because the Patriots have won Super Bowls recently and are still dominant while other teams have it much worse. I understand they probably get a few texts from morons ripping the Pats but 99% of rational fans get that we have it really good. That doesn't mean I can't be disappointed this week. It's taken up 2 breaks and he's really arguing against nobody. I usually love Fred's rants but this one bothered me
The segue to this rant was nonsensical too. Apparently some people were giving Fred a hard time about spending time mentioning Sanchez and the Jets....so Fred decided to go on a rant against a "vocal minority of Pats fans". Huh?allstonite said:I love this show and listen almost every day it must be slow because they are having my least favorite sports argument ever: Patriots fans should be happy 100% of the time.
