This show really suffers when Fred is away.

And no one has posted about the show since last Friday.

I love Rich but he can't carry the show by himself. And we all know Wallach is useless.

So bad that they had to resort to replaying old bits this morning (Rad Marchand), which was sort of a tie in with the Cuts for a Cause promotion, but not really. I agree that Rich can't carry the show by himself but they are not doing him any favors by throwing Bland Dan Roche in the 2nd chair.

Rich is still better at the lead chair than Mazz is!

It definitely suffers. I don't blame Roche, I like him, but he'd be better in Wallach's position.

The Hacksaw Johnny Gomes stuff this morning was awesome.

I thought it would just be more of a joke and an excuse to do more Gomes impressions but it was scary how hard that game was. He ripped the "it was already written" right from the Ultimate Warrior. That was great

The song was fucking fantastic.

I do a lot of smirking when listening to the radio, but generally don't do a whole lot of LOL'ing.

That song got me LOL'ing.

So another comedy bit? Seriously, they are getting so stale. they did a wrestling bit 3 years ago. These guys suck. They're so tired, unlike my act which is fresh and non-repetitive. /VirtualRheal

You guys are more sensitive than Pete Abe

Ya, that's the problem.

Edit: OK, I guess we group think in our snarky responses, that's fair enough.  But you still suck.

I don't believe the word is sensitive.

It's not that your opinion is different, it's just that you offer nothing but "T&R Sucks" or other crap with no point and no thought to your posts. You belong on Boston.com.

I suppose we walked right into that one.

Maybe VirtualRheal has been setting us up for an elaborate "gotcha" just like this all along. We all fell for it. Egg. Faces. Us.

I always thought Williams with a knucklehead, but I like that he's honest enough to say how he feels about his relationships with Bobby Valentine and Curt Schilling.

I really hope Mitch Williams doesn't become a regular guest.
Seconded. The BV stuff was the only interesting part, and it's clear they don't get along. Otherwise, typical bland jock speak. The return of dying Wallach was good, though.

Yeah as soon as I posted that he brought up the Valentine stuff which was interesting. I can go without hearing how Prince Fielder is worth that 10 year deal because he had 106 RBIs last season, though.

They're numbers are dropping.  A clear sign that people in Boston are finally fed up with their schtick of fairly rational and comedic discussion surrounding sports.

But aren't the numbers for both stations dropping?  Jan-Mar was kind of a realtive dead zone in Boston sports.  They will ramp back up for them with the Bruins run and then the Pats heading toward camp.  The Hub even gets a good chunk of the Sox audience with Massarotti's show.

Could have used this Simpsons img to switch it up:

That would be mixing in comedy in whats supposed to be a sports forum though. How schticky.

I deserve that.

And I'm not creative enough to switch it up.  I have one pitch, maybe two on a good day.  Today was not a good day.

I will say that the last few weeks have been pretty "meh" for me.

They've always gunned after guy Fieri, but i don't need a 15 minute bit every other day on the guy.

He's a douche. We get it. Keep the guitar riff's and funny jokes about Fieri to once every 3-4 weeks, and I'm cool. Anymore then that, and it loses its funny pretty quick.

This is the one time where VirtualRheal has a point. They did this routine last week, and I can think of a couple previous times as well. It was really only funny the first time. I was actually surprised to hear it today, since they had done it so recently and there are actual things to talk about today.

I liked Billy Jaffe being in studio and the guys talking hockey for most of the final hour though.  They sell themselves short sometimes on sports knowledge, Fred is as insightful as any host on that station when it comes to hockey or baseball IMO.  Ditto Rich for basketball (I imagine, I know nothing about it).

I'm OK with the Guy Fieri ridicule too, but the frequency of skewering him is likely most appealing to foodies and that's probably not the majority of their (or any) audience.

Uh, guys? They might have noticed there are some Guy Fieri fans on this very site.

So basically, this is all URI's fault.

They just had Adolfo mock announcing some of the NHL playoff games. Some highlights are a goal scored by Pickle for the Blackhawks and a butter sized save by Tuukka Rask.

The best thing was they had him do the Kentucky Derby and I think you could make out 5 words he said the entire race. I was laughing out loud in public.

That was probably the hardest I have laughed at this show since the beginning, and that is saying something. I had my head on my desk for 5 minutes straight.
