27 yo, has thrown a whopping 29 innings in the majors (5 this year). DFAed by San Fran three days ago. Basically a scrap heap guy.

which makes this, if true, weird

@ChrisCotillo
Llovera has to join Red Sox in majors because he’s out of options so expect a bullpen move there (Jacques?). TBD if Llovera will join team for Friday’s game in SF.

Sounds like a Chaim Bloom project…does he have an unusually long extended release point? I know a few posters here have mentioned he likes to take fliers on those kinds of guys.

Nothing that I can tell, and no funky arm action. Quick glance he’s got two pitches, a monster power sinker that sits 96 and an ok slider, and tunnels then well. Seems like someone to see if we can slip through waivers over the chaos of this week.

Llovera used to throw a 4-seamer & a changeup. I wonder if they think they can reclaim either of those pitches. Or if he would be better off further from 50/50 on the balance of the 2 pitches.

Now how do you differentiate between #143 and #147? Honest question.
Umm mostly feel? I try to update the list every day or 2.

Brock Bell is #147. He's 2 years older & only a level higher. Has been through a lot of injuries & missed a ton of time, & is also pitching better lately.

Pretty sure he's Jay Bell's nephew.

Totally on board with this deal (similar to the Hernandez deal).

Give up nothing and spend nothing to add three pieces to the bullpen mix and see what sticks.

Vastly prefer this to giving up an actual prospect or actual luxury tax space to acquire the Kendall Gravemans or Drew VerHagen's of the world.

Bucks broadcaster. Used to play a bit in The Association

Beat me by two minutes. Anything that moves Ort further from the mound
Marques Johnson had a fairly big role in the movie White Men Can't Jump.. Pretty good player in the Association as well.

Love this move. Ridiculous K rates in the minors, low BB rates. Bloom adding guys left and right who haven't made the leap to the bigs yet but could. Taking advantage of the roster crunches other teams are experiencing to nab guys who other teams can't fit in right now. Jacques still got options so he's easy enough to move down.

That line always killed me. As if anyone there knew what had happened to his first gun.

Nah man, this ain't Raymond.
I wonder if it was swiped from the real life story of Marvin Barnes trying to rob the liquor store he lived above.

Too many lefties between Bleier, Bernardino, and Joely. Jacques the worst of the bunch.
