Coach, maybe. GM? No. They have zero wing talent. Zero. It's brutal when an old and slow Joe Johnson knocks you out of the playoffs. It'd be nice to have a decent offensive talent to make JJ work on defensive and force Snyder into a real decision to leave him out there or not.
Does Doc coach next year? I would tell him he can either be a GM or the coach… not both
For his sake, I hope he ends up on the Spurs or Cavs next year so he can have a real run at a ring.Chris Paul giving this everything. Any criticism of him if they lose is just ridiculous
Did anyone think they would win #17 in season one of the Big Three era?Has a Doc team ever exceeded expectations?
Seriously? He won a COY Award on a Magic team that didn't even make the playoffs when they were a legit threat to win single-digit games that year.Has a Doc team ever exceeded expectations?
Personally I like it as you don't have many games overlapping and I hate to DVR playoff games when I'm seeing results on other feeds, boards, etc. What's the rush anyway? There isn't anything going on in May/June except for baseball.I want the best product possible, but am I the only one who thinks there are too many off days in these first rounds?
So once 15 years ago? I think he is overrated as a coach. League averageSeriously? He won a COY Award on a Magic team that didn't even make the playoffs when they were a legit threat to win single-digit games that year.
Doc's coaching problem with the Clippers is that he is an awful General Manager, a job that he never wanted and was forced upon him. I know this may make ElUno's head explode but this team missed Blake badly on the offensive end these past two games getting nothing out of Speights in his spot.
That's all fine and well but there aren't a lot of players who can sit around and wait for the ball to come to them and then all of a sudden become a playmaker in the six minutes that RW is on the bench.Per 100 possessions, Houston was +16.2 with Harden off of the court during their series against OKC. Anyone care to guess was OKC was without Westbrook?
-50.8!
I mean, we all knew they'd be a top 3-4 team. To Doc's credit, he managed that team perfectly.Did anyone think they would win #17 in season one of the Big Three era?
And if Ainge had drafted DeAndre Jordan instead of JR Giddens.Just imagine Doc's reputation if KG's knee didn't blow out.
I think it is time to get over it. 30th pick in the first round is a complete wasteland of pickingsAnd if Ainge had drafted DeAndre Jordan instead of JR Giddens.
(I'll never get over that awful Giddens pick)
Except it wasn't - Chalmers and Jordan were both talked about a lot and would have helped. Obviously, I don't care that much but that was a head scratcher from Day 1.I think it is time to get over it. 30th pick in the first round is a complete wasteland of pickings
I really reject this line of thinking. I get that guys have to be in a rhythm but these guys are professional basketball players, when they get the ball they should be ready to go. Westbrook's usage is off the charts, but I disagree with the idea that he is a super-ballhog. He passes the call much more frequently than other ballhogs like Jordan, Kobe and Iverson and I think he is very unselfish while passing on fast breaks and inside around the basket. That's all fine and well but there aren't a lot of players who can sit around and wait for the ball to come to them and then all of a sudden become a playmaker in the six minutes that RW is on the bench.
At some point, to be a team, there has to be trust in one's teammates.
The other thing that happened was that Westbrook was 2-for-11 from the field in the fourth quarter Tuesday night (0-of-5 from three) and a combined 14 for 49 (28.6%) in the fourth for the series.
Not saying that he's a super ballhog but from what I've seen (and I didn't watch the game last night so I can't comment on that specifically), my point is that he has the ball in his hands so much it makes it difficult for players to generate offense when he's off the court.I really reject this line of thinking. Westbrook shoots too many threes and takes a lot of difficult shots, but you know what? How about some other guys make some of their shots. Last night Oladipo was 4-17, Abrines was 4-11, Robertson was 1/7, and a lot of those shots were good looks at the basket. It didn't help Westbrook that OKC relies on guys they got off the scrap heap like Abrines, Robertson and Grant to play significant minutes while the guys they have invested real assets in (Kanter, Sabonis, McDermott) are buried on the bench.
Well you're preaching to a guy who feels nearly all coaches are league average at this level so I can't really argue that point although I do feel Doc is one of the exeptions. His problem with the Clippers is personnel. That is on Doc the awful and non-creative GM.....not Doc the coach. So once 15 years ago? I think he is overrated as a coach. League average
Me either. With 3 seconds left on the clock leaving them down 1.Can't believe Milwaukee didn't take a 3 down 90-87.
I have nothing against Blake. Obviously his offense was missed. My issue is with injury prone guys. That's it. As great as he may be, he is unreliable so he can go.Seriously? He won a COY Award on a Magic team that didn't even make the playoffs when they were a legit threat to win single-digit games that year.

Yes.So does anyone still think Demar DeRozan isn't a very good player?
Oh so you think he is a great player? I don't know if I'd go that far.Yes.
