Dave McCarty of 2004 Sox Passes Away
"Dave McCarty, a first baseman who appeared in 89 games for the 2004 Red Sox, has passed away. He was 54. McCarty attended the 2004 reunion at Fenway earlier this month. He played parts of 11 seasons in the majors with seven teams."

He was just in town for the 2004 celebration/reunion. Sad to hear this.
woh. I remember a key double he hit off Rivera off the Monster in a regular season game very vividly

The overall power of the team has been a bit better than expected - but need to get more of these XBHs with runners on.

No one loves a solo shot more than the Red Sox. We'll take them obviously but how about bringing a few friends along for the ride?

Now I worry about Bello giving up one to Cruz or a stiff like McCutchen or our favorite lead pipe, Tellez.

Andrew McCutchen is one of the nicer guys in baseball. Had a chance to spend a little time with him during one of the Shane Victorino Foundation events.

He crushed a golf ball farther than I have ever seen.
