And Cessa will get a start the series after, Cashman said. He also said Chance Adams could be a possibility after that, I think they will use the spot to audition people, German maybe too.Bryan Mitchell coming up to start Sunday
I doubt it, there's no reason to deviate from the long-term plan and give up key prospects, especially for someone who's not really a sure thing like Gray.Might they swing a deal for Sonny Gray now?
Pretty disappointing for both sides certainly, but the Yankees out least got more out of it than the Mariners. Noesi was terrible and Montero will only be remembered in the Northwest for chucking an ice cream sandwich at someone. How high does this deal rank on the "trade that didn't work out for either side" list?

I don't think that article is quite correct, SEA really wanted Smoak and once TEX agreed to include him, Lee was going there.Wasn't Montero almost traded for Cliff Lee?
Googling I found this. I always thought it was that Seattle changed their minds.
There are too many prospects that don't work out.
Wow, just read about that incident. What a total scumbag move by the Mariners employee. He deserved to have it thrown at him.Montero will only be remembered in the Northwest for chucking an ice cream sandwich at someone.
Yeah, that's what I remember. But Google gave us that.I don't think that article is quite correct, SEA really wanted Smoak and once TEX agreed to include him, Lee was going there.

Bottom line for Cashman: Not going to pay steep price for a starter just because of Pineda injury. “Trust the process,” he said. #yankees
I thought that was funny too, I haven't seen him use that phrase before. So, they're going to tank and try for multiple first-overall draft picks?
But, in the universe financially in which the Yankees play, Gray or Cole could be long-tern fixes.I thought that was funny too, I haven't seen him use that phrase before.
I do think he's right, though, they shouldn't be trading real prospects for anyone but guys who fill long-term holes, and those deals are probably better made in the offseason anyway.
I'd rather just sign Darvish this winter. But, in the universe financially in which the Yankees play, Gray or Cole could be long-tern fixes.
Yes, but I'd rather you trade off some prospectsI'd rather just sign Darvish this winter.
Yeah that makes some sense.I still think Ellsbury-plus for Verlander makes sense
Fake news. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mariners-have-decided-not-to-retain-the-ice-cream-buying-scout/Montero will only be remembered in the Northwest for chucking an ice cream sandwich at someone.
While the story was that Baccala sent Montero an ice cream sandwich in the dugout after yelling to him on the field to move faster, others with knowledge of the situation insist it was actually an ice cream helmet.
