It's odd, because the perception is that Vrabel runs a tight ship.Titans now under league and union investigation for violating protocols per Schefter.
Its ron desantis, what do you expectMiami has been given the go-ahead to go to full capacity fans at their home games. To say this is an awful idea is an understatement to awful ideas. Florida is going to Florida.

I don't know soxhop, what do we expect? Its ron desantis, what do you expect
So, of the teams not flaunting the rules there have been some positives, but after 4 weeks no teamwide outbreaks yet (although it's possible NE is teetering). The NFL, like MLB did, is going to say "See, if you follow the rules, there will be some cases, but not like Tennessee."
Commented on the post in the Dolphins thread, but I’ll comment here as well.Miami has been given the go-ahead to go to full capacity fans at their home games. To say this is an awful idea is an understatement to awful ideas. Florida is going to Florida.

The Patriots will be docked a first round pick.
Vrabel learned from BB, so, yeah...The Patriots will be docked a first round pick.
Jokes aside, isn’t this the same thing? Memo went out explicitly laying out the rules. Titans broke them. Decision impacts competitive balance of the league. Somebody needs to tell me why this shouldn’t be an automatic 1st round pick penalty. The Patriots will be docked a first round pick.
Because the Titans haven’t won multiple Super Bowls...Jokes aside, isn’t this the same thing? Memo went out explicitly laying out the rules. Titans broke them. Decision impacts competitive balance of the league. Somebody needs to tell me why this shouldn’t be an automatic 1st round pick penalty.
I know covid has created all kinds of weird new realities, but you're spot on here. If the league clearly laid out rules, and the Titans clearly broke them, then this is WAY more serious than Deflategate, even if Deflategate was real (which it wasn't). Because this is a combination of violating the integrity of the game by upsetting competitive balance, but also because, like Bountygate, this could seriously impact the health of players (and coaches).Jokes aside, isn’t this the same thing? Memo went out explicitly laying out the rules. Titans broke them. Decision impacts competitive balance of the league. Somebody needs to tell me why this shouldn’t be an automatic 1st round pick penalty.
I'm sorry but even outdoors and with everyone in that stadium theoretically wearing a mask this is a public health nightmare. This is like the Rose Garden on steroids (x100?). Even the Trump campaign felt like it had to limit huge outdoor rallies (who knows for how much longer) but this is a tragedy in the making.Miami has been given the go-ahead to go to full capacity fans at their home games. The Dolphins have already said they will continue to follow CDC guidelines, so they aren't going more than 25% full.I'm sorry but even outdoors and with everyone in that stadium theoretically wearing a mask this is a public health nightmare. With things like skipping rows of seats, strict masking and distancing each group of fans you can squint your eyes and convince yourself that it's not a literal death trap to open stadiums at limited capacity, but this is absolutely politics overwhelming science.
DeSantis is clearly trying to support the "everything is fine, life is back to normal" Trump message in a critical battleground state and putting not just individual lives at risk but setting up a super-spreader event like we've never seen. Hopefully the Dolphins push on with the 13K limit even after this weekend but given the money aspect I'd fear that greed wins out. Unreal.
Just picturing "social distancing" at the entrance gates, I can't think of a game at Gillette Stadium where I have not been ass to elbow with hundreds of people at the security checkpoint for 5-10 minutes, unless hitting the sweet spot somewhere an hour to hour and a half before kickoff. The Dolphins have already said they will continue to follow CDC guidelines, so they aren't going more than 25% full.
Not to mention, they could open that stadium to everyone in the world today and they're not getting 65,000 people at a Dolphins game.
A game with 25% attendance should not have that issue.Just picturing "social distancing" at the entrance gates, I can't think of a game at Gillette Stadium where I have not been ass to elbow with hundreds of people at the security checkpoint for 5-10 minutes, unless hitting the sweet spot somewhere an hour to hour and a half before kickoff.
Not if they open all the gates. Hope they do that.A game with 25% attendance should not have that issue.
JFC. Did the NFL and NFLPA *really* not put a clause in there that differentiates between "cancelled" and "forfeited".“If any games are canceled (and not later played) during the 2020 season once the regular season has begun, Clubs will not be obligated to pay the salary protected by applicable 2020 Guaranteed Salary during the 2020 season that would have covered salary for any cancelled games, provided that the foregoing does not apply to any salary guarantee, signing bonus, roster bonus, or reporting bonus earned but not paid prior to cancellation.”
To clarify, my response was meant for the DeSantis clearance for full fans, not for what the Dolphins are currently following. The members who went to the Pats-Chiefs game could probably comment on how well the spacing was maintained entering that partially full stadium.A game with 25% attendance should not have that issue.
For the first time maybe ever the NFL is justified is levying a huge penalty IMO. Those guys are fucking with not only revenue but health and safety of not only their teammates coaches staffs and opponents but also all of the communities where those folks reside. It is extremely reckless behavior. Now one question is if the Titans knew. If so, monster penalty. If not, I think they get the benefit of the doubt and a lighter penalty.
Drop the hammer, Roger.
This is feeling like the dam has too many holes and the NFL just doesn’t have enough fingers to plug them all. They need a plan that is more than $10 million fines and hoping for tests to allow Tuesday games. Maybe the answer is there is no answer.
I agree with you, but also believe that the league is fucking with the health and safety of players, coaches and staff by requiring the Patriots to play on Monday. For the first time maybe ever the NFL is justified is levying a huge penalty IMO. Absolutely yes. And the league should have never sent the Pats to KC this past Monday eitherI agree with you, but also believe that the league is fucking with the health and safety of players, coaches and staff by requiring the Patriots to play on Monday.
Devil's advocate--are you saying there should be an automatic cancellation of game if there's a positive test?I agree with you, but also believe that the league is fucking with the health and safety of players, coaches and staff by requiring the Patriots to play on Monday.
Florio has no filter. If indeed some "higher-up" on another team did "guess" that, it's not worth repeating unless he here's it from someone who wouldn't be guessing
I believe I heard Dale Arnold mention yesterday that the Titans GM has a child attending the prep school where the practice/workout occurred. For the first time maybe ever the NFL is justified is levying a huge penalty IMO. There's no way to punish them any further, anyhow.Well we all know the Jets won't be penalized if they broke protocol
