This was always the matchup from hell for the Pats. If 49ers make it through, Pats might have lost to them by 30 in two weeks if they had somehow survived today.

As I said in the postgame thread, there's a vast difference between the elite defenses we're seeing tonight and the Pats' depleted unit (or the Broncos' depleted unit, for that matter).
