Officially fuck the SEC day. 10 teams in the top 25 my ass. Auburn "ties" Jacksonville State. Arkansas, who somehow was ranked 18 despite going 2-6 in conference last year, loses at home to Toledo. Even Alabama didn't wow versus Middle Tennessee. And Tennessee, Butch Jones? Oh yeah, they're back.
Thankfully we have the final 4 to shake things out. I'm guessing it will take a few years before voter"s muscle memory to get back to normal so they don't reflexively select SEC when give a choice between an SEC team and one that likely kicks their ass.
So sick of this SEC bullshit, I hate Ohio State and I think TCU deserved the 4, but I'm happy things panned out like they did last year. Bury the hype, play the games. See how many championships the SEC has in the next 5 years.
I don't disagree with you that the SEC gets a lot of undeserved hype, and 10 teams in the top 25 was a complete joke, but let's not get crazy either. The top of the SEC is as good as any conference in the country. Alabama, Georgia, LSU, 'Ole Miss, A&M have looked good too..Top to bottom, I love it when people knock the SEC down a peg or two like they did today, but there is still no real denying that top to bottom, the SEC is probably the best conference in the country, and if not the best, certainly no worse than top 3 (I can see an argument for the PAC 12 and maybe the B1G), but that's it.
I can point to just about every single team that's struggled through 2 games this year. TCU didn't look good last week, Baylor gave up 21 in the first quarter and a half to Lamar University today, Ohio State was only up 14-0 at halftime against who today? Howard? It's still very early, but when your bottom feeders are teams like Vanderbilt, Kentucky and maybe South Carolina this year, and they can beat more than half the teams in the country on any given day, it's a pretty damn good conference.
