Nice help D lol

Just a shameful job by Korver there. Atlanta really battled back hard after Carroll went down, anchored by Milsap stepping up his D on Lebron ad this dunk pretty much put the game away for good. Korver a chance to take the charge around the FT line with worst case sending Lebron to the line.

I don't know, I think Korver's best case there was sending LeBron to the line, and his worst case was getting a concussion and sending LeBron to the line.  I don't think there's any way he can get in position to take a change on LeBron at full steam.  He certainly doesn't want to try and I'm not sure I blame him.

Yeah, there was no way Korver was intercepting Lebron on that drive without taking a foul and some stitches.

The real problem was that five Hawks defenders somehow couldn't contain three Cavaliers.

I wouldn't count Atlanta out. If Carroll stays in the game they might have had a shot to take this one. And this was the designated JR Smith game, next time he is likely to go 0-12 from downtown. The Hawks won 60 games this season, they can ball a little bit. Also, Kyrie couldn't guard Teague if he was allowed to handcheck him with a taser.

Any doubt that Lebron could make the NBA finals with any team in the eastern conference?

You know what, *that* would be a great offseason thread idea.

The current Knicks, true, but if the assumption is that LBJ comes to a team at the end of the previous season, NY still would have had JR Smith, Shumpert, Tyson Chandler, Prigioni...

I would amend that argument to include the top ten teams in the Western conference.

It depends on the context of the question. Is it add LeBron to the team right now today and nobody else......or add LeBron over the summer and allow the team to put pieces around him. If it is the latter i'd argue that he could take both NY and Philly to The Finals with the cap space they have as well as draft picks to move for complementary pieces. That's pretty much what Cleveland just did to, likely, get to The Finals.

I wouldn't bet against LeBron, partly because he's LeBron and partly because every other Eastern team right now is pretty flawed. But I do think there's plenty of doubt that LeBron *this season* at age 30 is any better than Curry, Harden, or Anthony Davis. (Not implying that anyone said otherwise, just saying).

I also think the Cavs' supporting cast, even without Love and Kyrie banged up, is not that awful. That they were able to spin Dion freaking Waiters (a huge net negative) into Shumpert, JR Smith and Mozgov *in the middle of the season* still sticks in my craw. Screw the Knicks, and screw the Cavs. Go Hawks and Warriors.

Edit: fantastic news about DeMarre Carroll.

Gotta think Dwight's lucky to be at 50% capacity even if he gives it go. His game is still based largely on explosion and athleticism, and the MRI apparently showed a legit sprain.

Now watch him go out and put up 30/30. It wouldn't be any more unexpected than what Houston pulled off v. the Clips.

Since the NBA is a star league and you need stars to win...who was the second best player in East this year? John Wall? Kyrie Irving? You could make a list of the top 15 players in the league and no one outside of LeBron would be on it.

Let's not confuse the regular season vs. the playoffs. This season LeBron coasted throughout the regular season, including sitting out games, to save his body.....yet still was pretty dominant. He's still the best playoff player in the league this year right now.

Coincidentally the NBA did just that today, announcing the three All-NBA teams. The only two players from the East besides LeBron who made it were Pau Gasol on the second team (?????) and Kyrie on the third team.

I would put John Wall in the top 15 players in the league, he seemed to have jumped another level of play before getting hurt this postseason, but he'd be the only Eastern player besides LBJ on my list.

The Warriors already have seven turnovers.  If they keep this up, they are going to be in trouble by the end of this game.

Warriors now have 11 turnovers and after roundly beating the Rockets into the early part of the second, they have a tie game to show for it.  Harden is, once again, a beast.

Not sure about that.  Houston is kind of playing with Eddie House money here.
You mean they keep shooting 3's with one foot on the line?

He used to before his elbow injury. I've heard that he can't even fully extend his arm some days. He was becoming such a great overall player before these injuries too.

Yeah, he's been plagued with injuries all right.

Yeah, he literally has alligator arms.
