I'm pretty certain it is a requisite. Agent/GM favors have been around as long as FA.soxhop411 said:How is this crook an agent?

This is a soap opera. Meeting over, sources say, but LAC stalling, staying with DeAndre because they know Mark Cuban just landed n Houston.

Sounds like all the makings to a great reality show. There would be a market for that, right?
Yeah I think you're giving way to much weight to this, but I guess we will see. End of the day players will sign with him. The Twitterverse is lending a lot of spotlight to something I don't think is as rare as you do and compounding it with speculation about the agent steering him there as some kind of nefarious act.Tony C said:
And....if he doesn't have players?
I'll stick by this is killing the agent. Teams will see him as someone who isn't trusted by his own clients, so can't deliver on informal/handshake deals, which is how a lot of business gets done. And players will see him as someone who will sell them out to do make-ups for others. And the one reinforces the other...rinse and repeat.
Believe me: he's dying.
Wtf?
What are the Clippers stalling? They can't sign the deal until 12:01am....if I were Doc and those players I'd take his phone and not let him out of my site. Although the thought of Cuban finding DeAndre and approaching is the stuff legend is made of.nattysez said:

Can't the Clippers sign him whenever they want? Or is there some difference in NBA FA transaction bylaws I'm unaware of?HomeRunBaker said:What are the Clippers stalling? Well, nothing has been signed (at least nothing binding under the cba) so I'm not sure why he wouldn't be able to yank it.Rudy Pemberton said:Does Cuban have the right / ability to pull the offer to Jordan? Granted he doesn't have much else to do with the money at this point but if the guy is having these thoughts, I don't think you want him at all.

Clips wouldn't want to do that though - they don't want a disgruntled DJ.LoneWarrior1 said:
If Cuban believes really wanted to pork Jordan, isn't this the best move? It eliminates Jordan's leverage, backs him a corner at this point. The Clips could drop their offer and Jordan would likely be without another 20+ million dollar offer awaiting him.
So far, Clippers able to keep everyone else out of house, including Cuban, agents. Everyone. They're in four-corners until midnight Eastern.
Lemne try again: Mavs' contingency in case Jordan goes back to Clips: focusing on Wizards' free agent center Kevin Seraphin, per source.
Good luck ever signing a Fegan client again. Also I'd guess the NBPA rank and file will be thrilled that their president is helping a GM try and strong arm another player into signing in a meeting without an agent.soxhop411 said:“@WojYahooNBA: So far, Clippers able to keep everyone else out of house, including Cuban, agents. “@espn_macmahon: I’m told that DeAndre Jordan won’t even take a phone call from Mark Cuban or Chandler Parsons.”moondog80 said:I don't get this. Jordan wants to meet with the Mavs, the Clips won't let him, so he's just going to sign with LA?

I'm assuming this can only be because Fegan needs plausible deniability. Otherwise he never does business with the Mavs (or shit, anyone) ever again.soxhop411 said:“@ramonashelburne: One person not in the meeting or the house with DeAndre Jordan right now — his agent Dan Fegan.
