Or repping 225 on the bench has almost no carryover to football or any other sport.http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1583968-barkevious-mingos-refusal-to-bench-press-at-pro-day-should-concern-nfl-scouts
Did mad weightlifting this off-season give Mingo the strength he needed to shed blocks? Some scouts predicted his failure due to lack of strength, despite great speed.
I certainly hope so. Hopefully there are enough reps to go around and he'll turn into another Jabal. One of my favorite collegiate front seven defenders ever. So happy I can root for him now professionally

I think he can be 95% of Chandler
Wow - they must really dislike round five, because that is a list of acquisitions that has a serious impact deficiency. Here's an interesting note:
Pats won't have a 5th in 2017 (barring further trade, traded for Mingo).
Pats didn't have a 5th in 2016 (traded for Keshawn Martin)
Pats traded out of 5th in 2015 (for Jonathan Casillas), got another 5th in trade, traded back in the 5th round and took a LS
Pats didn't have a 5th in 2014 (traded for Isaac Sopoaga)
Pats didn't have a 5th in 2013 (traded for Albert Haynesworth)
Pats didn't have a 5th in 2012 (traded for Chad Johnson / Ochocinco)
It seems to me like they think the value is poor in the fifth round and they can get guys they like just as much in the 6th / 7th / UDFA.
Casillas, Martin and Johnson easily meet or even exceeded what you would reasonable expect to get out of a 5th round pick when they played. I'll give you Haynesworth and Sopoaga, but the other guys provided reasonable contributions vs. what you could expect from a player drafted in that spot.Wow - they must really dislike round five, because that is a list of acquisitions that has a serious impact deficiency.
The one pick they made panned out, though
Or, the value league-wide of "marginal / depth player" is a 5th rounder. Some of those names are bigger than the others but they've all proven to be pretty much replacement level talent. It seems to me like they think the value is poor in the fifth round and they can get guys they like just as much in the 6th / 7th / UDFA.
I meant more in the "Has it already been paid" sense - I should have been clearer. His contract is fully guaranteed (he was the #6 pick in the draft) so when its due is fairly irrelevant, as he is going to get it whether or not he is on the roster.
95% of Vernon Gholston is more likely...One of my favorite collegiate front seven defenders ever. So happy I can root for him now professionally

If I remember correctly that means we win the offseason, right?95% of Vernon Gholston is more likely...
Browns fans have suffered enough.During the season we frequent a couple of bars that have tons of Browns fans. I will torment these people endlessly if this kid has a productive season as a situational player.
You would think so but most of these people are tremendous douche bags. It's hard to believe how obnoxious OH fans can be.Browns fans have suffered enough.
Nowhere nearly as bad as Steeler fans. You would think so but most of these people are tremendous douche bags. It's hard to believe how obnoxious OH fans can be.
Thought he played exclusively at LB last night? Don't think he can play the Sheard role since he can't set the edge. As a situational pass rusher perhaps he can play with his hand on the ground but I see him as more Jamie Collins backup/Nickel LB alongside JC than much time on the line or traditional 3-4 OLB.What I'm finding interesting is maybe the end game is for him to take over Sheards role last year while Jabal goes into the Chandler role. Either way if he can keep weight on then Mingo on this front 7 is crazy good.
I think his edge-setting ability is not as bad as people think. He stuffed the left tackle and brought down the running back for a loss on one play. I saw the clip of the play in the attached tweet from Rich Hill on Twitter - "Mingo Is Nightmare!" Giants Outcry.Thought he played exclusively at LB last night? Let him cover TE/RB's and occasionally rush the passer. He isn't going to hold up a T/G at the point of attack.
