A night after he let one get away in Cleveland, Matt Barnes goes on DL with lower back strain. Velazquez to take his spot on the roster.
DD eliminated Barnes as an option for Manager John.

Of course, because the front office regularly moves players to the DL without the knowledge of the manager or coaching staffDD eliminated Barnes as an option for Manager John.
You don't get it. Manager John went to Barnes to start the 8th last night, when any other option he had would have been clearly better against the four RH hitters coming up.Of course, because the front office regularly moves plays to the DL without the knowledge of the manager or coaching staff
Except the "moon landing" ... that those were filmed in New Mexico has been provenEverything's a conspiracy theory
And everyone's in on it, including *her*!:Everything's a conspiracy theory
I want him put on the DL. Not tomorrow, not after breakfast....NOW!
It has been proven but Kubrick, having been hired to produce them, was such a perfectionist that he insisted on filming on location.Except the "moon landing" ... that those were filmed in New Mexico has been proven
Manager John works for and reports to DD.Of course, because the front office regularly moves players to the DL without the knowledge of the manager or coaching staff
But doesn't that burn his last option? Maybe they'll need it next year if (dreaming here) Carson Smith, Tyler Thornburg, and Robbie Ross all come back strong. Why would they phantom DL a player with options? If they option him and someone else gets injured and goes on the DL, they could bring him back sooner than 10 days.
No, he has 2 left, was added to 40 man Sept 2014, optioned in spring of 2015, called up about a month into the season, and been on the major league roster since. But doesn't that burn his last option? There are a lot of shitty posters here who aren't capable of adding content but still insist on posting on the Main Board. Is this the thread to have passive aggressive beef over Farrell's bullpen usage? Just sayin' it's kinda game thready in here.
Since you have the grit and moxie to simply ask straight up for likes, I'm sorry that there's no "like" button or I would honor your request. There are a lot of shitty posters here who aren't capable of adding content but still insist on posting on the Main Board.
Like this post by me.
Most of his control issues lately have been wild high with the four seamer. It could be a stiff back is impeding his ability to "finish" the delivery - thus leaving the ball up.Almost every time Barnes sets up, he does a back-stretch thing. I've never known if this is his routine or if he actually has back issues.
Clearly one of his routines is not throwing strikes on days he's Bad Barnes. It's almost as if you can tell from the first pitch, even if he gets lucky with outs.
Good Barnes is damn good.
Probably not, but there is little there to believe they are actually going to do anything about it. I think I even recall Farrell being the league source somewhere speculating about the "in the spirit of rules" factor with the changes this past spring, which makes it even more laughable.Barnes has some nice quotes in the Globe today about just how uninjured he is. Are we sure the league is OK with this?
If it weren't so game-thready, I would totally use a smile emoji to express my appreciation of this post.Since you have the grit and moxie to simply ask straight up for likes, I'm sorry that there's no "like" button or I would honor your request.
I considered a thumbs-up in lieu of like, but repented of my frivolity. If it weren't so game-thready, I would totally use a smile emoji to express my appreciation of this post.
Perhaps they put him on the DL to save an option because in 10 days the rosters expand. No, he has 2 left, was added to 40 man Sept 2014, optioned in spring of 2015, called up about a month into the season, and been on the major league roster since.
Except the option doesn't get used unless the player is in the minors for 20 days.Perhaps they put him on the DL to save an option because in 10 days the rosters expand.
I will lust for her until the day I die. Don't judge. And everyone's in on it, including *her*!:
A UConn benderAlmost every time Barnes sets up, he does a back-stretch thing. I've never known if this is his routine or if he actually has back issues.
This is where I am as well. I think the guy is worn out. The Home/Road split is odd, but I don't see much harm in getting him 10 days off to rest up and work on a few things on the side.Barnes leads the bullpen crew in innings pitched (60) and appearances (59). Ten days resting his backache (oooh! ow!) is fine with me.
