From cbssports.com - most likely comeback player of the year candidates. Among them is Eovaldi. Their write-up:
"If not for
Steve Pearce's robust World Series hot streak, Eovaldi was likely next in line for 2019 World Series MVP. Can he stay healthy for 10-12 starts this year?"
Uh, what? Eovaldi had that great relief appearance in game 3 of course - the one game the Sox lost. But...
Eovaldi: 8.0 ip, 0-1, 1.13 era, 3 h, 2 r, 1 er, 1 bb, 6 k, 0.50 whip, 6.8 k/9
Price: 13.2 ip, 2-0, 1.98 era, 7 h, 3 r, 3 er, 6 bb, 10 k, 0.95 whip, 6.6 k/9
I'd like to think that next in line for series MVP after Pearce was Price, not Eovaldi.
Regardless, I hope Eovaldi does put up a nice "season" the next two months.
