Really feels like Leonard trolled the Lakers. And West outgunning LAL has to really sting that fan base.
I suspect the extra time was needed to get the PG13 trade done. I don’t think we know who his second choice was. If his fallback option was re-signing with the Raptors, then yeah, he trolled the Lakers brilliantly, and significantly weakened a key competitor by doing so.Really feels like Leonard trolled the Lakers. According to Woj on SC he didn’t have much interest. Probably never fully know but I’m guessing 2 years in Toronto was his fallback.I suspect the extra time was needed to get the PG13 trade done. Well sure. You’re banking on career-altering injuries to Kawhi and George for these to average out around 15. Injuries can occur with any player. I wouldn’t expect any of these LA picks in the next 3-4 years to be all that valuable.Of course not--I don't think that the Clippers are guaranteed to convey a #3, #1, and #8, and the most likely outcome is probably an average in the #15 range. I just think that people tend to overweight current performance of players, underweight injury/age uncertainty, and not properly factor in how having all your future assets owned by another team affects your probability of not sucking.
But, but......what about all those “sources” who had him going to the Lakers? Today is the day for these clown clickbaiters to get called out.According to Woj on SC he didn’t have much interest. Probably never fully know but I’m guessing 2 years in Toronto was his fallback.
Congrats dude. It’s one thing for your squad to land two franchise players in the same day, but for longtime Clips fans, punking Big Brother in the process has to feel nice. Two actual SoCal guys too. Fucking love it. My atheist ass is praying for health!
Cross posting Just because I think it’s LOL funnyAccording to Broussard, Toronto had a strong meeting with Kawhi. Drake heavily involved. Kawhi wants Lakers, but is doing deep soul searching. Clippers are out.
I’d be interested to know whether those writers were making shit up, or whether people close to Kawhi were deliberately misleading them. (Not that I have a moral problem with the latter, but you can’t really blame a sportswriter for running a story based on a well-placed source.)But, but......what about all those “sources” who had him going to the Lakers? They have nothing to offer the Thunder — Kuzma and a trade exception ain’t getting it done.Wow. Now watch Westbrook be traded to the Lakers.
I'd love to see ball-dominant Westbrook play with AD and LeBron. That would be fun to watch what happens there. If RW could ever realize that he's just not that great an offensive player, and choose to be a complimentary offensive player while continuing his uber max effort everywhere else (which is something he should get tons of credit for - the guy plays as hard as anyone I've ever seen), he could be a tremendous help to a team with championship aspirations. But it all comes down to pride, really. He's got too much of it to step back like that.Wow. Now watch Westbrook be traded to the Lakers.
True.....but if a sportswriters sources are deliberately misleading them they are doing an awful job of identifying their sources.I’d be interested to know whether those writers were making shit up, or whether people close to Kawhi were deliberately misleading them. I’m SHOCKED to learn that tampering is going on!Not that I’m not thrilled that LAL whiffed here, but holy God this is a terrible case of tampering. Kawhi went and tore PG out of OKC with his own two hands.
I dunno. Deception was unusually important to Kawhi’s camp this time — the OKC trade probably doesn’t happen if word of it leaked. I could see a highly trusted source deciding that this was the moment to burn a bridge. Btw, this illustrates perfectly why journalists don’t run major stories based on a single off-the-record source, but I think we all know that sportswriters don’t hold themselves to the standards of real journalists.True.....but if a sportswriters sources are deliberately misleading them they are doing an awful job of identifying their sources.
It’s not tampering when players talk to each other; their right to do so is protected by federal law.I’m SHOCKED to learn that tampering is going on!
Broussard was the only guy who declared anything with confidence, though, right? But, but......what about all those “sources” who had him going to the Lakers? Today is the day for these clown clickbaiters to get called out.
Neither are the Thunder. The first LA Clippers pick/swap doesn't convey until 2022. Hell, the Clippers could 3-peat and it could still end up as a good trade for the Thunder.Well sure. You also are failing to account for 50-70% of Prokhorov’s wealth being decimated by the Russian crisis. We can also compare the ages of Kawhi/George to Pierce/KG.

This isn't a guaranteed win for OKC by any means, and the most likely outcome is not a string of lotto picks, but if things start to take a downturn in LA around 2022, the Clippers don't have easy ways to stop the tailspin, which increases Presti's expected value. Not sure why this is so hard to understand.
This really is life sustaining.INJECT THIS IN MY VEINS

All the information that leaked from Magic’s conversations with Kawhi team didn’t help the Lakers case.
Magic foolishly gifting them Zubac in February is the cherry on the sundae. This really is life sustaining.
The Lakers and Klutch took a huge L last night; owned by the crosstown rival club. Massive snub by PG and KL both players who were supposed to be Lakers and were penciled in as such by their fans many times. Finally, all coordinated by Jerry West at the expense of Magic. Couldn't be more painful for Lakers fans and I stan for it.
Jalen Rose said 99% Raptors on Thursday.Broussard was the only guy who declared anything with confidence, though, right?
And I mean that's just shooting fish in a barrel.
He might not have been wrong; seems like this came together quickly and KL is known to change his mind. Woj promising his story coming soon.Jalen Rose said 99% Raptors on Thursday.
I hope this isn't true for the Clippers. But PG had injuries to both his shoulders last season, and -- due to surgery -- was expected to miss the beginning of the season. It's the clippers. You know damn well Kawhi's leg and PG's shoulder are 50/50 to fall off any night
!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy shitPresti offered the Raptors Westbrook and George for a deal centered around Siakam. Wow.
Yeah, but per Woj:Presti offered the Raptors Westbrook and George for a deal centered around Siakam. Wow.
They still have Lou Williams too, right? That's a pretty solid roster, but is Zubac the only guy over 6'9"?Congrats dude. It’s one thing for your squad to land two franchise players in the same day, but for longtime Clips fans, punking Big Brother in the process has to feel nice.
PatBev, Harkless, PG and Kawhi is a sick defensive lineup. Sub in Shamet (under the radar Jerry “King of the” West move) and Harrell and they can light it up.
So glad I get to keep rooting for Kawhi.
Gotta imagine that they'll take a flier on Boogie nowThey still have Lou Williams too, right? That's a pretty solid roster, but is Zubac the only guy over 6'9"?
Morris is signing for more than the Room exceptionClippers also have room exception and could add Morris or Boogie.
Who’s left that has need and cap space?Morris is signing for more than the Room exception
Toronto has the full MLE now. They could use him.Who’s left that has need and cap space?
I believe it’s the 4 year max so 4/141?What is Kawhi's actual deal? I went to bed before the MOAB and catching up.
One can only wonder if Magic did this to undermine Pelinka. I mean everyone else in the world knows that KL likes to keepeverything on the QT and that he needs to be able to trust his team's organization to do the same.INJECT THIS IN MY VEINS

Seems Lakers could have used him more so than KCP.Toronto has the full MLE now. They could use him.
I understand the sentiment, but, dude, this is a Celtics board. That answer is obvious.Has anyone in anything ever just basically kicked ass for 50+ years the way Jerry West has in basketball?
Other than the needs of KCP’s agents being very important to Lakers, that is...Seems Lakers could have used him more so than KCP.
