Kirk and Callahan: Done

The blow job thing stemmed from yesterdays show when they played some of Warren Sapp's call with the cops/911 (not sure which it was) when he was arrested. A female was asking him what happened and he was explaining the entire situation. He said he got oral sex from one of them and she asked if he wore a condom during it and he said yes. Callahan was aghast that a guy would wear a condom while getting oral from a prostitute. He couldn't understand why while the other 2 dopes had to explain STD's to him. He was still steadfast that a guy couldn't catch anything by not wearing a condom. I guess the high level discussion spilled over to today's show as well.

Like Dan Roche, wouldn't replacing Wallach as 3rd chair be a demotion for both?  We're not talking some no name kid from UMASS like Beetle trying to build a resume.

I would love it, but it would be a step down.
Yeah, it's a selfish suggestion. I just want Wallach gone.

The past 3 or 4 times I've tuned in (over the course of the past 2 weeks), all I've heard is Callahan ranting about the death penalty and the Boston marathon bomber. It's terrible. We get it, Gerry. You think he should die. It is unlistenable.

This morning, again - "someday terrorists are going to hijack a bus full of kids and demand the release of the marathon bomber, what are we going to do then?"

Which segways into Callahan, Minahane, and Ordway solving the riots in Baltimore.

I check this thread just for the hell of it, but this is part of why I don't have the WEEI App on my phone.

his premise is so fucking stupid "HOW DO YOU KNOW SOMEDAY THE LAWS WON'T BE CHANGED, HE COULD BE PAROLED, OR GIVEN FREEDOM IN A PRISONER SWAP"
talk about a straw man

I don't embrace the idea of government deciding who lives and dies, but in this case if he gets the death sentence good for him, he's earned it.  However, the idea of the eternity of your life spent in a tiny cell with zero human contact outside of a guard placing shackles on you seems far far worse - even if you've got a 11" tv to watch the price is right.

Was that before or after they gave a professional pollster a lesson on polling because they didn't like the results of his death penalty poll?

Considering the legwork and gymnastics they do on ratings poll methodology to try and contort themselves to still be #1 in some facet, it wouldn't actually surprise me if they knew more about polling than many low level pollsters.

The last thing I need in the morning is to be lectured to by Glenn Ordway and Gerry Callahan about race.  Click.

I thought there was one amusing moment today. They were talking about Brady's dad comments and Minihane is saying he shouldn't be talking to press. Callahan chimes in and said it's just a  dad defending his son and then says to Kirk wouldn't your dad do the same. Kirk right on cue says where was he during the Erin Andrews fiasco.

I heard 5 seconds of this program this morning.  It was Tanguay talking.  All I heard was "Heidy Watney was overrated. Jenny Dell was hot (or something focused only on her looks)" click.

Haven't heard a word of the show, but based on one of Minihane's tweets last night, I'm assuming the topic of NESN sideline reporters came up as part of an assault on NESN in general.  Minihane's tweet was something to the effect of CSNNE being live after the Brady suspension news came down and NESN was showing some fishing show or something.  Basically criticizing NESN's lack of news reporting.  I think they're still bitter they got shitcanned from TV so NESN could air re-runs of their "news" program for three hours.

Tanguay destroyed Jerry Thornton this morning.  They were replaying his comments from yesterday about Goodell (Jerry was saying that this was the end of Goodell) and Tanguay said that if the afternoon show wants to improve it's ratings, they need to trade Thornton for Paul Perillo.  Tanguay said that would allow Thornton to go over to PFW, write puff pieces, and lick Belichick's balls.

Makes sense.  Bunch of mal-adjusted bros with a kernel of a solid idea that morphs into "rating" the female talent.

Yeah, I heard that as well.  Dennis is an ass, but that was really loathsome coming from the guy who's filling in for him.

At 5:45PM last night, NESN was covering the Brady story with Wiggins and Elle Duncan at the desk, and guests on the phone.

I was mistaken.  It wasn't Minihane, it was him re-tweeting this from the D&C twitter account.  This was around 8pm.

Dennis and Callahan @DandCShow
.@CSNNE is live with great coverage on the Tom Brady suspension and NESN is airing "New England Boating". Remarkable.

Am I crazy or is Thornton good with Dale and Holley? I didn't expect to like him but I think it works.

I yearn for the days Ordway fills in. Though I'll say this, one thing that Dennis/Callahan/Minahane do fairly well is not talk over each other. Tanguay talks over everyone.

I think Thornton is almost really good. He has moments where he goes in to this nasally self-laugh that are pretty bad, but he really knows his Pats and he gets in a decent line here and there and he knows when to shut up.

D and H and T is by far the best eei show. Not close.

Oh good. I'm glad Kirk is here to set the tone for what people in New England want to discuss. Ugh.

Wait you mean to tell me that Kirk Minihane, co host of the 4th or 5th rated morning program in New England, is going after the #1 afternoon show and station in New England????

What's this the 9th or 10th time he's pulled this stunt?  It's like a 5 year old trying to play with his 12 year old brother and friends.

He's been brutal all week.  The other day, he was riding the "why not give up your phone if you have nothing to hide" argument.  Gerry and Kirk were trying to tell him that it's just not something you do, and that lawyers in the room were never going to allow that to happen.  Gerry asked Gary if he got pulled over for doing 57 in a 55, and the cop asked to look in the trunk, what would Gary say?  Gary said that he would not hesitate to let the cop look in his trunk.  Why?  Because he has nothing to hide!! He said he would allow his wife's purse to looked through and pretty much anything the cop asked for, he would consent to.  "Because I'm innocent!"

He also thought Tom Brady's suspension was at least partly due to his arrogance. Citing his helicopter ride to Salem St for that appearance.  He said that just screams arrogance.

It will be a glorious day when Tanguay doesn't have a job whatsoever in Boston area spots media anymore. He is the worst in the business.

Tanguay called the other two stupid more than once. Kirk told Tanguay to leave the station.

It's not often when Gerry is the calming force in the room. Yikes.

He couldn't have actually thought that. Did you ever hear the clips from a few years of him doing some D3 games? It was brutal.

As long as WEEI exits, we can never rid ourselves of Sterns, Mustard, Johnson and the rest, including Tanguay. We couldn't even get rid of Ordway.

Listened for about 6 minutes today during a T&R commercial. Say what you want about Jerry Thornton, but Tanguay of all people ripping him for being shitty radio was high comedy. Tanguay also trying to claim that he is no longer doing Pats pre and post because the pats pissed him off is one of the funniest things i have ever heard. Sorry Tanger but they dropped you because you sucked no matter how much you try to tell yourself otherwise.

I heard Mad Dog Russo on this morning, and I have to ask...was he good at some point?  I never heard Mike and the Mad Dog, but holy shit was he awful.  It was just some of the worst radio I could imagine.

- Shouting all the time
- Shouting over the hosts when he didn't want to hear what they were saying
- Asking questions that the hosts literally just answered
- Admitting to not reading either the report or its rebuttal and claiming "that's not his job"
- Saying that the suspension is justified or should have been longer because people in other parts of the country demand it
- Then saying that the suspension was too long
- Repeating "facts" that were rumor months ago and have since been disproven by the very report he's basing his opinion on (that he didn't read)

This doesn't seem to be an isolated incident either.  I don't think I've made it past 30 seconds when I've seen him on MLB Network either.

What am I missing?
