Barkov, a player I love for the record, actually had a below average defensive impact this seasonat +2% above average. Meanwhile stone was -6% below average and Bergeron -11%. Hockey writers are the worst and it ruins these awards.Barkov won the Selke. Bergeron finished 2nd.
11 out of the 100 PHWA voters did not include Bergeron in their Top 5.
But the voters always vote based upon data and performance!I get more pissed about this award every year.
More accusations of sexual abuse in the world of hockey - Frank Pietrangelo accuses Thomas Adrahtas of sexual misconduct.Well, this is gross.
Blackhawks failed to report sexual assault of 2 players by video coach during their 2010 playoff run.
He probably could've gotten a higher AAV on a shorter deal elsewhere, but RNH really isn't all that good a player. Good on special teams, pretty mediocre as a 5v5 player with his numbers this year being juiced by playing with McDavid or Draisaitl on nearly 80% of his 5v5 minutes...and he still only posted a 7-8-15 line on 5v5. I could definitely see that deal going all Loui in Vancouver as RNH gets into his 30s.Nugent-Hopkins must really like Edmonton. 8 years, $41 million, NMC.

If that's the case I'd rather hold onto him. Maybe I'm just too high on DeBrusk but I see more than... whatever crap he was this season and unless they get a pretty terrific deal back for him I'd rather hold on.Arvidsson is probably a good barometer for DeBrusk's value. DeBrusk is a similar but less valuable asset. I think they'd be lucky to get a 2nd for him.
I would absolutely love a move for Schmidt, assuming they can get it done for (relatively) cheap given his remaining term. If they can send Moore the other way (in addition to futures), it's a cherry on top.Nate Schmidt available says David Pagnotta. He's a good fit and should be cheap
Surely they will take our 11th defenseman who's signed for 45 more years.I would absolutely love a move for Schmidt, assuming they can get it done for (relatively) cheap given his remaining term. If they can send Moore the other way (in addition to futures), it's a cherry on top.
ya, Schmidt was traded for a third last year and had a bad year, he’s a year older and still has 4x5.9 left. He’s not someone a developing team would trade for given his age and cost and most contenders have minimal cap space. There won’t be a lot of suitors, I don’t think. Van could just keep him but why? His value will only get lower and moving him gets rid of a declining player and cap liability. I think they should move him for whatever they can.VAN paid a 3rd for him last year. I can’t imagine him costing more than that if the Bruins take the whole contract.
The autopsy also said blunt force trauma to the chest from an exploding firework. Just an awful situation. If was a fireworks related fall
Yup. Far too many senseless injuries and deaths. Some people just don’t appreciate how dangerous they are.Brutal. 24 years old. Fireworks go crazy, he runs and falls and hits his head on concrete and dies. Truly awful.
Fireworks are terrible things and should only be used by professionals.(and even that is a debatable idea) They result in so many injuries. And deaths.
