You might want to temper that a bit through the trading deadline, I think he might be Cashman's main target.Justin Bour is great TV. Funny, smart, self-effacing. I'm a new fan.
Arcia was way out of the baseline a long time during the run-down between third and home. I dislike Showalter as much as anyone, and am rooting for the Brewers b/c of Shaw, but is that routinely allowed? The Milwaukee radio guys thought BS was on the field to argue that Arcia hadn't touched third base.O'stown going down in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee batting, up 7-1. Arcia on first. Batter hits a butcher boy grounder to SS and beats the throw to first. Arcia makes 2nd base and keeps on toward third as it is uncovered for the moment. He over slides third base and gets up and heads for home (if he went back he would have been tagged by Machado). Arcia gets in a rundown then just sprints for home. The throw back home is caught by the SS but he is blocked off from tagging Arcia at the plate by the catcher (who had ran back down from thridbase). No error. Fielder's choice. 6-3-5-1-5-6. At one point Showalter came on the field. The Brewer announcer speculated "old school" Buck was yelling at his team.
Also, Travis Shaw took a pitch in the hand or wrist and left the game as a precaution.
For sure, but I thought that the fact that he was being pursued by a guy/guys trying to put a tag on him made a difference, but apparently, that's not the case. Here's the video. I don't see much beyond the usual amouth of out of the baseline you see when a guy rounds third and scores from second

The "baseline" is defined by the runner as a straight line from wherever he is to the next/previous base at the time that someone attempts to tag him, to avoid the tag. Until that point he can run anywhere. (which is why runners are never in the baseline going from home to 2nd when they hit routine doubles, for example). Arcia seemed to run pretty straight, don't think there was any reason to call him out for running out of the baseline to avoid a tag.For sure, but I thought that the fact that he was being pursued by a guy/guys trying to put a tag on him made a difference, but apparently, that's not the case.
I hate Shoewalter as much as the next guy, but besides running out of the baseline, I thought the third base coach might have unintentionally interferred with the play..Here's the video. Didn't look like there was any contact with the third base coach but it was very close. The fact that the coach and the ump were right in the middle of the players makes the play even more bonkers and chaotic.I hate Shoewalter as much as the next guy, but besides running out of the baseline, I thought the third base coach might have unintentionally interferred with the play..
Free ice cream!Wtf happened in Washington? 2 hr rain delay, no rain?
3 straight walks on 13 pitches (one strike to the middle hitter Bellinger). Impressive.Arizona brings Rodney in to protect a 4-1 lead against LA. 2 hits and 4 walks later, the game is tied, the bases are loaded, and there's still nobody out. Chris Taylor hits the first pitch from TJ McFarland over the left fielder's head, and the Dodgers finish off the sweep.
Apparently, he underwent a heart procedure and is sidelined for a while. Brad Mills is going to take his place at the All Star Game.Tito missed another game, in the hospital for further tests.
Best wishes to him, scary.
Overreaction to the forecast, but, in their defense, it rained pretty hard over much of the DC area between 7:00 and 9:00, just not right at the ballpark.Wtf happened in Washington? 2 hr rain delay, no rain?
I don't see that at all. No more out of baseline than guy that hits one up the gap and goes wide rounding first. Was he not out of the baseline between 2nd and 3rd? He looked far out.
I just put the game on the TV, because it's on TBS. I saw the 10-0 score, top of the 2nd, and had to check the play by play. That's an awesome first inning.Pittsburgh just scored 10 runs in the top of the first at Wrigley against Jon Lester, who got 2 outs, allowed six hits, walked three, two errors behind him led to 6 unearned runs. Frankie Cervelli's grand slam kayoed Lester.
Dodgers now 27-4 in their last 31? That's crazy.Kershaw with a 13 K CG on 99 pitches.
Dodgers and 'Stros on pace for ~ 110 winsDodgers now 27-4 in their last 31? That's crazy.
Will Grady Little be asked to apologize?Pittsburgh just scored 10 runs in the top of the first at Wrigley against Jon Lester, who got 2 outs, allowed six hits, walked three, two errors behind him led to 6 unearned runs. Frankie Cervelli's grand slam kayoed Lester.
Care to elaborate for those of us unable to watch that game?Yasiel Puig proves yet again that he has no respect for the game. He must be the worst teammate. I hope he charges the mound one of these days and his team stays in the dugout.
