Managed a rarity score of 51 due to my continued use of my old standby Roberto Hernandez. Took a flyer on the .300 average Reds player trying to get a low score and I was required by law to choose the bottom right guy.

Ran out of guesses… pretty proud of the Pirates/Reds guess. All those years playing MLB 2K and Power Pros as a kid are finally good for something! I would have gone with David Ortiz for the final square.

Pirates? Reds? I only got 6, but I'm happy with my Hall of Famer who hit .300.

I went with Arky Vaughan for 0.06%. I think it was just me and Joe Posnanski guessing that one.

I did this bleary eyed this morning, and thought that was the As, not Atlanta. Between that, and accidentally hitting the wrong Freddie once I realized it was the Braves...not a great result

How do they come up with the percentage score? I mean, the earlier you start the less of that percentage it should be, right?

For example if Rickey Henderson is a 6% HoF for the Blue Jays what is that 6% based on? Is it based on the times Rickey is being named in today's game? As the day moves along and more people play, shouldn't the percentages drop and fall?

They do. Someone just asked this in the other thread.

Unless you're one of the first handful it should in theory be fairly consistent. If 6/100 pick the guy then odds are that approximately 60/1000 pick that guy.

Yeah, they don't drastically change, but it's updated as the game goes. You can look through the grids here and see the fluctuations.

In the NHL grid today, anybody know what "games played => 82" means? I just assumed playing greater than 82 games (counting playoffs) in any season, which seems way too easy, but then again none of my guesses that should meet that criteria were deemed correct.

I would enjoy this a lot more if it wasn't "Immaculate or Bust"...It would be nice to get 3 strikes, even if that hurt your score.

First time in 4 days playing that I was immaculate! Quite happy with my 74 rarity score as well with some randoms.

I thought my picks were pretty good today, but I guess Sid Bream is too common of a Brave/Pirate for a good rarity score.

I only got Cooper cause I got his autograph around 1993 at a signing at a RI car dealership. It took me forever to remember it. 67464

RS- 138, The right hand row ruined any chance of a sub-100 score.

The only real head scratcher was the lower right corner. I remembered that, while great, Bon Gibson did not win 300 games. I had to activate the way-back portion of my brain.

I actually like the Guardians "C" because it's way more distinctive than the "Block C" they used as the Indians that could be confused for any team from a C city. I just don't understand how in the world the ugly "Winged G" ever got approved or why they even use two letter logos instead of coming up with a cartoon/tiki version of the Guardian of Traffic.

Today was a tough one.

I feel like going through my old cars collection will help me get quicker and better with these. Maybe I’ll do that with the Sox game on this afternoon.

Actually, I'm surprised that the middle right percentage isn't much higher. Lower right seems to be creeping up. I think my RS may be 10 pts. higher by end of the day. You have great gets @Deweys New Stance! Your score may get lowered.
@Curt S Loew. I am so ashamed
I even looked Sam up recently. Just to see what other teams he played on. I do remember him with the O's but couldn't remember if he played anywhere else. All do is remember and use him.
@SoxJox, can you show me how to activate the way-back portion of my brain. But Bon Gibson?

7/9 today. Posting my grid for a bunch of familiar faces. Ruined my chances at finishing the grid when I got so excited to play Scott Cooper that I initially played him in the wrong spot and I saw Mets+pitching and put Pedro, even though I knew he didn't get 300 wins

9/9 with a score of 80. I'm always surprised that more people don't answer the bad/forgotten return on infamously terrible trades (middle square).

DAMN, I whiffed on that one. The team combos were tough for me today.
Edited to say that I got that particular team combo and thought I did fairly well at 6%, but @Curt S Loew played it extremely well.
Thanks. On that square at least. I have been waiting to use him! I'm not very good at this. Especially expansion and NL teams. The records I can handle, but it seems the only San Diego Padre I know is Dave Winfield. I don't play Fantasy any longer which really hurts.

It requires a custom DeLorean and a family relationship along the McFly lines.
