Missing Son, Maddison, Sarr, Bissouma, and Deki, with Udogie and Skipp under the weather this week I'll take that point and run.

Madrid putting the hammer to Barcelona 4-1 in the Super Copa final. Araujo got a red for Barca as well.

I sense a nil-nil draw
Just watched it off the DVR. What a rock fight of a game. Very entertaining despite (because of?) a total lack of quality. Both sides had a goal ruled offside, both keepers made a point blank save, but otherwise it was late tackles, sharp elbows, and NFL hits in the Goodison fog. In other words, edge of the seat for 90 minutes. A good point for Everton who got waxed in the reverse fixture in September.

I almost started a new thread for this week but caught myself.

Arse looking more like themselves while Palace… Look like themselves.

2-0 Gooners, both off corners. Palace had one good chance that Raya did well to save, but otherwise are outclassed.

losing away to Arsenal can hardly be counted against a manager but is Roy in trouble? Since Everton just played 2x in the cup we heard from some Palace fans who seem unhappy with him.

Between that and the season Union Berlin is having, my weekends have been pretty dreadful since August, save for the very late 49ers kickoffs.

If you told me that Gabriel had two goals in the first half for Arsenal, I definitely would have been wrong on my first two guesses.

I've had enough of this today.

This is just an execrable performance.

Do we really miss Jordan Ayew that bad? Maybe we do.

I am fine with moving the ball. It up to the referee to decide if the ball is not in the correct spot.

I have a problem with moving the foam. No one should be touching the foam other than the official. The Brentford players were distracting the referee purposely so he could move the foam. No bueno.

But why didn’t Forrest object? Not that it should be their responsibility.

It would be useful if there were more eyes watching what was happening on the pitch so the referee could be alerted to cheating. Maybe a couple of qualified folks in a room with monitors and communication equipment.

Wilder does seem as if he’s got Sheff Utd playing better, Berenton-Diaz scored a peach and could have had more, but Hammers up 2-1 late. Just not quite enough to overcome the gap in talent.

Jota between Nunez and Diaz is an intriguing front line. Let’s hope the Gomez and Bradley fullback combo holds up again.

So far Bournemouth are going right at it. And it's fun to see their guys playing free and flashing some moves on the ball. This looks like it will be an exciting one.

I’m looking forward to celebrating Gomez as the highest scoring defender of all time when he finally retires.

Bradley floats the ball too much, doesn't drive his passes. Betrays a little lack of confidence.

I want to give him credit and say it’s lack of experience adjusting to the windy conditions. Konate and VVD don’t seem to be having the issues a lot of other players are having.

That challenge is pretty brutal. That’s been a red in other games. I seem to remember someone rolling over a ball and getting a red for that same contact earlier this season.
