I think missing 3/4 of the starting back line was the bigger problem.
Udogie was the worst miss for me. Emerson was valiant but he should simply not be playing where he was and Udogie there could cover for more of the deficiencies of the line and contribute offensively.

Mykolenko-who is quietly becoming a force-with a terrific header at 0:53. Then Branthwaite dangles a leg across Eze in the box and Eze buries the pen at 4’. Watch there won’t be any more goals now

Really liking this camera angle they are featuring on Peacock for Arsenal-Burnley.

It's zoomed out more (not quite fish-eye?) & allows me to see more of the players.

Apparently shoving defenders in the back isn’t a foul anymore.. at least if they’re an arsenal defender

Kane has 17 goals in 11 league games for Bayern so far this year. Last year the Golden Boot winner for the Bundesliga only scored 16 goals.

Everton grab an 86th minute 3-2 win from the most unlikely source- Idrissa Gana Gueye with his first goal in more than 3 years. He is a dreadful shooter, can’t hit water falling out if a boat, so this silky smooth finish with defenders hanging on him was unexpected.

Toffees now 7 points from last 9, 10 from 15 with a cup win mixed in. They’ve won away at Brentford, West Ham, and Palace.

Squad is so thin, a key injury here or there would cripple us, but tbh we don’t suck anymore.

Expected goal differential also looking good for Everton. Pretty impressive work by Dyche with no budget, poor prospects for incomings, and still shipping out non-committed players like Gray.

There is so much that can still go sideways- a penalty for the alleged financial misdeeds, the sale to 777 Partners blowing up, or 777 turning out to be as bad as their critics say they are, or just injuries- but an identity is being forced. The team is all in. Dyche ball can still be painful to watch- at the 70 minute mark Palace had 80% possession for the half- but there is attacking threat in the side now and it feels good to pull for them, which it hasn’t for some time.

Now in 14th,8 points clear of the drop and only 1 pt out of 10th.

I put a modest wager on Everton to finish top half in September. I got +2200 odds. That’s now at +1000 and will be lower after todays win. Might be treating the family to a nice steak dinner in May.

Nunez with his second offsides disallowed goal and Paul Tierney with the Cheshire Cat smile.

both were offsides….just annoyed at Tierney.

Anthony Taylor recently restored to the top flight after blowing penalty calls… Blows a penalty call.

Just saw a replay of Chelsea’s equalizer. Ederson is such a liability for Citeh now. Woof.

And Chelsea pull ahead.
